“You must be insane!!!”, is the initial reaction of any sane mind when they’re told to accept cancer.

It doesn’t help when a cancer patient comes from a childhood of abuse, much like Carl Mason.

To people like Carl, being dealt the Cancer Card, after a series of trials in life, is nothing short of cruel.

Carl was diagnosed with Stage 4 Large Cell Lymphoma, an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Following the diagnosis, he was subjected to different invasive treatments, like chemotherapy.

Carl wasn’t really offered much in terms of options. Treatments felt like torture and doctors seemed like tormentors. And yet, in spite of those treatments, his cancer spread to his hips on the second occurrence, until it spread all over his body during the third.

At that point, fighting his condition felt moot. Carl couldn’t help but accept his condition and the treatments he had to undergo – it was at this moment that the “magic” happened.

Carl’s change in perspective actually helped him heal his body, and he’s been cancer-free for 26 years since then!
