This week we're wrapping up our series where I've been taking you behind the scenes of our client summit. We're changing gears a bit and instead of talking summit strategy, I'm sharing a look at what it was really like to offer done-for-you virtual summit production. I'll share what our role in the summit was, what the full team looked like, how we communicated and stayed organized, what it was really like, the most challenging parts of the process, lessons learned, and whether it's something we'll do again. A few months ago, I produced my first business-to-consumer (B2C) virtual summit. Until that point I had hosted 9 events for business owners and often heard people in my audience running B2C businesses viewing their audience as a limitation. I was interested to see how it went and what the differences really were! In this episode, I'll share what I expected going in, what the reality was, why I think having a B2C business gives you an advantage, rather than a limitation, what surprised us most about a B2C summit, and what all of you B2C summit hosts can take away from what we learned. Prior to our client summit, I had personal experience launching courses and high-ticket programs through virtual summits. Truthfully, I thought that memberships were "less than" and didn't really understand the appeal...but that has changed! In this episode, I'm sharing the truth about launching a membership through a virtual summit, keys to the strategy, and why I think every membership site owner (who enjoys big projects) should give it a try! One of my big takeaways from the last two summits we've hosted is just how much of a learning experience each event is, no matter how much experience you already have. In this episode, I'm sharing 7 of the primary changes we've made to our virtual summit strategy after our recent events and how you can apply those changes to your own events. I'm covering things like event structure, speaker communication, sponsor packages, promotion, and more. For show notes, head to https://summithosthangout.com/224
We're kicking off a series where I'm taking you behind the scenes of a done-for-you client summit we produced back in January and spilling all kinds of juicy details. We're starting off with an episode detailing key takeaways I'm walking away from this event with and how I'm applying those things moving forward. I'll share what I learned by pitching more than 80 speakers, how things not quite going the way we'd planned has changed my approach, how I'm challenging the decisions I make, and more. What do you think of when you hear the term "pre-launch"? Maybe the 14-30 days leading up to a cart-open period with some extra emails and videos? If that's you, tune in to this episode to hear from Brenna McGowan about how a more strategic pre-launch strategy will build excitement and anticipation for your launch in a way that increases natural interest and allows for more space in buying decisions. Are you on team evergreen funnel or team live launch? I'd guess you have a preference, but the truth is live launches and evergreen funnels are the perfect match. And what makes it even better is a 3rd piece to the puzzle that a lot of course creators are missing. Tune into this episode with Gemma Bohman-Carter to learn about how to maximize your course sales with a 3-part hybrid marketing method that will catch people when they're ready to buy whether they take quick action, take years to warm up, or are somewhere in between. As nice as it would be for someone to tell you exactly which offers to create and what strategies to use to build a successful business, that's not how it works. Tune in to this episode with Mariah Coz to hear about creating offers that make sense for what you teach, making sure your offers work together, and giving yourself the space to try different ways of launching to see what performs best for you. In this episode, we're welcoming Megan Griffith, founder of Neurodivergent Magic, to talk about neurodivergence in virtual summits. Megan shared the wonderful results she saw with her first summit, dove into what it was like to host a summit as someone with autism and ADHD, and brought up what we can incorporate into our own events to make them more accessible for our neurodivergent attendees. It's easy to go into hosting a summit with pretty selfish goals. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, you definitely need to grow your business, but you also have a major opportunity to make a difference through your event *alongside* growing your business. In this episode, we'll cover 8 ways you can make a difference through your summit. Everything from donating to causes you care about to highlighting new people and so much more.
