As president and CEO of MedShare, a company that has delivered critical medical equipment to over 100 countries, Charles Redding knows a thing or two about complex supply chains and coordinating with shipping partners to help communities in need. But throughout his international career, he’s gained an even greater understanding of how to encourage effective leaders, get proactive on disaster relief, and navigate cultural differences – both across borders and within companies – to drive long-term growth. She's no stranger to making noise on important issues - and she has plenty to teach us on the topic.

Energy costs are surging, partially because of a lack of supply and partially about the constraints placed on the movement of existing supplies. The Northeastern United States is in a particularly precarious position because of the supply chain modes used to transport the fuel needed to heat people's homes.
As with all Dial P topics, energy is complicated - and the sources of fuel that we think of as separate actually quite interconnected.
In this crossover episode of Dial P, host Kelly Barner reviews a few energy-related questions which sound simple enough but get very complicated when you put them together:
• What determines the cost and prices of diesel fuel, home heating oil, natural gas, and electricity?
• How available are these different sources of energy?
• When is product availability an issue and when is the ability to move them from point A to point B the real problem?

The average cost to process a freight invoice is $14. Given the level of complexity this documentation often includes, many likely cost much more than that. It also takes approximately 37 days to pay an invoice, a lag that causes considerable challenges – especially given that 60 percent of freight quotes to not match the final invoice.
In this Supply Chain Now livestream, Scott Luton and Greg White were joined by 20-year industry veteran Shannon Vaillancourt of RateLinx to discuss the keys to unlocking hidden freight savings.
He shared how Fortune 500 companies and SMBs can:
- Eliminate rate tolerances
- Negotiate better RFP rates with accurate historical costs
- Establish and calculate lost savings KPI

Over the last few years, many teams have been forced to shift their meetings and interactions into the virtual realm. Despite how fortunate they were to have the option, very few of those teams would say they took the opportunity to connect via Zoom and used it to build stronger bonds than they could have otherwise. If anyone was going to defy those odds, it would be Tandreia Bellamy.
Tandreia Bellamy has worked her way up through the ranks at UPS, starting as a supervisor while she was in college and eventually becoming the Vice President of Industrial Engineering for UPS Global Freight Forwarding. During the height of the pandemic, her team used their virtual meetings to figure out how they were going to move ventilators through the supply chain. But once that work was done, they realized they were having such a blast that they didn’t want it to end.
In this classic episode, Tandreia tells Supply Chain Now hosts Scott Luton and Greg White about her team’s year of virtual adventures and bonding:
– The Halloween costumes, cookbook, best virtual background competition, and more
– Her concerns about the shortage of all commercial truck drivers, but especially those qualified to drive fuel tankers, and what it may do to the economy
– Her involvement with the service provider TommyRun now that she has retired from UPS, an entrepreneurial list-mile delivery service focused on construction materials and supplies
