  • 231: Embodied Leadership Through Healing & Spiritual Connection with Devi Brown

We are currently living in the age of the "Expert;" where everyone is an authority, but we're all afraid to be a human. This is creating a culture of disembodiment for fear of not living up to the impossible standards of credibility set by our social media culture. Instead of fully embodying and living authentically to be in service of others, we are instead focused on appearing as the polished expert to our audience.

Today's guest is Spiritual Leader and WOC Advocate, Devi Brown.

Devi and I met at my spiritual psychology program as USM, and she has been an absolute ANGEL to get to know!

Devi serves as Chief Impact Officer at Chopra Global and is a passionate advocate for Women of Color in wellness. She is a master wellbeing educator who blends the tenants of primordial sound meditation, spiritual psychology, energy healing, ritual and deep intuitive understanding in her work. Devi is devoted to spiritual connection meant to aid in the healing of generational trauma with a presence that is rooted in sharing tangible healing modalities in support of radical self-acceptance.

In today's episode, we discuss how we can become a fully embodied leader through healing and:

    • How we are all a leader in some way
    • Becoming a deeper level of one's self
    • Generational trauma
    • Spiritual narcissism
    • Being forced to look at the shadows
    • Getting familiar with barriers others face
    • Your Brand vs. Full Embodiment
    • The age of the "expert"
    • Motivation vs. Inspiration for transformation

  • 230: Is Racism a Mental Illness? with Psychotherapist April Harter

As the 2020 Anti-Racism movement has progressed, people across the world are awakening to the truth of how systemic racism has repeatedly traumatized the Black community, creating global un-learnings and un-doings of the structures that keep white supremacy alive. But have we ever considered a psychological way to actually heal racism from the core, root level of each individual?

Today’s guest-- Dr. April Harter-- is the psychotherapist founder of the Racism Recovery Center. Her center provides psychotherapy to white people to address and heal their racism and racist behaviors. April has a unique approach to understanding racism on a personal level. As you all know, looking deeper at the trauma and life experiences had to uncover problematic and abusive behavior is deeply important to healing. April is in the midst of developing research for this process, and ideally--create evidence-based solutions to treat racism.

In this episode you’ll hear us discuss:

    • The different types of racism
    • Racism coming from the root of narcissism
    • A psychological understanding of how narcissism, codependency, and racism relate.

    • [58:22] Motivation through fear and shame and covert racism

QUOTES: "When therapists are trying to help people, we turn to evidence based practice. I was trying to find some type of theory or modality that would help white people and racism, and I literally found nothing."

"You can’t practice compassionate detachment unless you’ve had healing yourself."

"White people tend to think that they are the exception. This reinforces denial that they have a problem."

  • 229: Healing Your Archetypal Shadows

We don't want to relate to darkness as bad or negative. As much as we want to be "high-vibe," "positive" and "energetic matches" for that which we desire--repression of darkness only festers more darkness.

When we don't ADDRESS or CONFRONT the shadow [be it our perceived "negative" or "positive" traits and qualities] it ends up unconsciously seeping through the cracks of our psyche into thoughts, emotions, and actions as a projection of the internal world in the external, material reality. When we do ADDRESS and CONFRONT our shadow, we can then integrate it into our being to become more whole--and gain agency and sovereignty over how we interact with it moving forward.

In this episode, we dive into each of the four entrepreneurial archetypes and their shadow side, plus tips on how to heal the shadow side and connect with the opposite archetypes to your advantage.

  • 225: Changes with the Seasons of Your Soul

There are just those moments in life that you have a strong intuition that you have to do something immediately. When I walked with Cooper earlier, something connected in me. It might be because of the things that have been going on in my life, or some things really need to be done. We need to have a conversation about it.

Today, we'll be talking about the season of your brand energetics. Recently, I feel that my brand needs to have a shift, along with the changes that have been happening in the world, and me personally. It's time to move away from things that I've long been sinking in towards new things where my heart wants to be.

In this episode, we're going to deal with this change. When you're focused on too many distractions and drowned yourself in massive clutter, you tend to lose sight of what's important. My desire to scale the business has blinded me from seeing the necessity of putting energy on the things that matter. Looking at the numbers too much can literally drive you crazy! Am I still giving positive and valuable things to them? During our journey to the top, we still have to remember the people we serve.

After resting for too long in the pandemic, there's also a point where we have to start picking ourselves up and begin creating again! At the end of the show, I'll also be telling you what significant changes are in store for the podcast. I can't believe we've been doing this for three years now. It's about time for a well-deserved upgrade!

I'll catch you all again next time here on Bucci Radio. Stay safe!

    IMPORTANT MOMENTS:

    • [02:20] Having the intuition to do something and acting on that thought.
    • [03:40] A major shift in my life. A challenging work environment and losing a solid foundation.
    • [06:01] Paying attention to the shift from within. Shifting business models to the things that matter.
    • [11:02] Being more energized to create new things again. Expect new things! Inviting the Divine Masculine back.
    • [14:13] Accepting this new season of change and taking interest in new ideas.
    • [19:19] What are you called to shift into? What are pretending not to know?
    • [21:40] The new path for Bucci Radio Podcast. Putting energy in the right places.

  • 224: Social Media Personal Development with Marie Wold

We all go through different stages in our lives. Sometimes it's because we move to different places, an intentional shift in career, severe medical conditions, a loss in the family, or sometimes knowing that we've changed. Or, maybe we've just started to figure out who we really are.

Today's guest is my friend, Marie Wold. She is an influencer for eight years and has been through everything from having an anonymous Instagram account, winning bikini competitions, getting over 100K subscribers on YouTube, and now coaching people who are scaling to six figures.

In this episode, we'll get into Marie's younger years, why she started an anonymous Instagram account, the mistake of attaching your self-worth to social status, and growing around continuous feedback. After realizing she was only doing things only because it was expected of her and that it made the people around her happy, a switch flipped inside her. Marie also shares her experiences of finding her identity beyond the validation of others, loving being able to help other people, and removing herself from her past success in order to create one that has true purpose.

    • [46:18] Taking a break from YouTube and turning to Instagram for now.
