  • The Emotions Behind Your Weight

Tried everything to shift your weight and nothing’s working?

It may not be food, but if you emotionally eat, this is just like drugs and alcohol. Stuffing down what really wants to come up. Seeking comfort in what’s uncomfortable.

Let’s explore the basics, where it can go wrong and some tips:

    • Food, exercise and the imbalances that can present
    • Sleep and why it helps with weight control
    • The body type or dosha that is more prone to weight gain
    • What emotion are you trying to stuff down with food
    • Where you hold weight can reveal the underlying issues- I cover the stomach and hips
    • Close your eyes down and pay attention to where you hold weight. Do you feel any sensation?
    • Who would you be if you were to lose the weight?

  • A Brain Cancer Experience · Ania Volovique

Ania Volovique is a self-proclaimed queen of personal reinvention. A move across the world at the age of 10 led her on a lifelong search for a sense of belonging.

In 2012, she started her own photography business with the intention to make others feel seen, heard and connected.

Her choices were driven by that innate desire to feel at home and be accepted.

Through many years of personal development, reinvention and looking within, she found what she was seeking….only it came in the form of brain cancer.

Through the brain cancer experience, Ania was able to see the lessons and blessings and truly trust they were leading to her greatest growth and expansion. By the power of collective prayer and mindset, (and an amazing surgeon) Ania was able to heal her body, without a need for chemo or radiation.

As a result, she's challenged and surprised doctors and continues to inspire others as her story continues.

Ania invites her audience to shift their mindset around "worst-case scenario" and fully live...without having to wait for a scary diagnosis or a near-death experience.

  • Broken fingers and toes

Did you know that each finger and toe represents a different emotion?

Maybe that stubbed toe has something more to tell you than 'watch where you're walking'.

I've come across a lot of sore fingers and toes and even broken ones that just don't heal. They stay broken. What's that all about?

  • Dealing With Fears & Anxiety

Here's my take from experience working with fears and anxiety.

Rarely do I focus on the fear, anxiety or phobia itself. These are just manifestations of an overfull emotional cup. I go straight for whatever emotion is present, whatever memory needs to be worked on.

By doing this and getting an emotional release, the cup gets emptied a little. The anxiety, fear or phobia quietens down. The event or memory that gets processed may have no direct correlation with the present day fear or anxiety.

If you've tried all sorts of coping mechanisms and it doesn't work. Maybe it's time to deal with some stuff that's been swept under the carpet.

  • Finding the Lump · Kathryn Elliot

Like many of us Kath Elliott is a woman juggling multiple roles -mother, wife, daughter, sister, business owner and friend. She is currently based in Melbourne, Australia, and has been in strict lockdown due to Covid 19 with her family (husband Paul and three sons) since July this year.

Kath has always been fit, active and lead a healthy lifestyle so was in complete shock when she was diagnosed with locally advanced triple positive breast cancer at the end of August last year at the age of 46.

She discovered the lump herself whilst getting dressed to go to work and instinctually knew straight away that something was not right. Within a week she'd been through 15 appointments, numerous scans, a procedure to have a port put into her arm and started an intense 6 month program of chemotherapy. Her life as she knew it had been turned completely upside down.

But she quickly made a decision to ACCEPT her diagnosis with positivity and to see the challenge as an opportunity to heal herself physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Although she used conventional medicine for treatment she embraced and used many other therapies as part of her healing experience. Kath believes that in the years leading up to her diagnosis she hadn’t been deeply connected with or listening to her body and had developed some unhealthy drinking habits that started during her teenage years.

A large component of her healing journey focussed on getting back in touch with her body, particularly her right breast, where the cancer had developed as well as understanding and dealing with the emotions and blockages in her body through regular Hahnemann healing and kinesiology sessions.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each year close to 20,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia, which equates to around 55 each and every day.

Kath is an Ambassador for the Breast Cancer Network Australia’s (BCNA) annual ‘ Pink Buns’ fundraising campaign with Baker’s Delight, reminding Australians that a breast cancer diagnosis has a ripple effect extending far beyond those diagnosed. It affects families, friends, workmates and communities as they support their loved one through the experience. See link here for further information.

Kath continues to document her healing experience via instagram @healingbreastcancer and her website www.healingbreastcancer.com.au with the hope it may help others along the way, particularly those looking for an integrative approach and keeping a positive mindset during diagnosis, treatment and beyond.

  • Knowing Your Strengths

Here's an exercise I get my clients to go through when we're working together.

Strengths are something that come naturally to you and aren't always easy to identify or recognise in yourself. Take some time out and answer the following questions for yourself.

    • What do others tell you you're good at?
    • What do friends always ask you to do?
    • What tasks do you love that others don't enjoy?
    • What do you know how to do better than anyone else?
    • What are you able to do easily without question?
    • If you didn't need an income what would you do with your life?
    • What do you love to learn about?
    • Who do you admire and what are their strengths?
    • Write down 50 skills, experiences and qualities that you have

.If you get stuck at all, ask a friend or a work colleague!

  • Plantar Fasciitis - Foot Pain and Emotions

I love treating plantar fasciitis. It doesn't always have to do with being overweight.

There is a definite mechanical component to consider but it is rarely in the foot itself. I'll take you through how to test if your butt muscles are firing properly, how to manage an inflammatory condition like plantar fasciitis, but also how to get to the root of it at the emotional level.

  • Corporate Life To Type 1 Diabetic · James Hardiman

Join me today as I chat with James Hardiman a mortgage broker based in Melbourne Australia.

7 years ago James was diagnosed with a chronic illness he still manages to this day.

    Remarkably well in my eyes.

On reflection he sees how his lifestyle and stress levels contributed to his health taking a turn. He weight 110kg, was living the busy corporate life travelling interstate, divorced, kids and also had an unpleasant end to another relationship.

James isn’t a practitioner of sorts, but I’ve followed his story via his partner. James hasn’t followed the conventional advice to help him manage his condition, his been open minded, taken up new practices, and acknowledge what needed to change to on the emotional level.

We delve into alcohol, relationships, moving countries as a child and the impacts it had on James.

I love that as a male and working in the industry he’s in, that he’s open to sharing his emotions. No matter where you come from or what industry you work in, we all have emotions that can hit us pretty hard.

I always recommend you send some love to my guests for sharing their vulnerability and for being so open to sharing their story.

  • How to know if you're with the right therapist

With so much choice it can be hard to know which therapist or modality to go with to navigate your health and wellness.

Today I cover evidence-based practice - A combination of best evidence and research + clinical experience. It's the results that matter.

Giving your body a chance to get results- because it won't always be that you feel great immediately.

Appointment overwhelm- too many appointments and too many practitioners. Are they collaborating and on the same page?

Communicating with your practitioner if you're not getting results.

What to do if you haven't even started your health journey?

Please reach out and ask for help. You can email me too if you're not sure where to start!

I hope this helps you on your health and wellness journey.

  • Don't get a splint for your jaw. Resolve the problem.

Don't get a splint for your jaw. Resolve the problem.

Have you got jaw issues? Also known as TMJ (temporomandibular joint) problems:

    -Jaw pain

    -Clicky jaw

    -Lock jaw

    -Grinding teeth aka bruxism

    -Headaches (linked with the jaw)

If you’ve been prescribed a splint and it works that’s great. But often people spit them out or chew through them!

The jaw is linked with your solar plexus which governs emotions around:

    -Identity

    -Confidence

    -Trust

    -Self-esteem

    -Power

    -Authority

    Emotion —> anger

Your jaw is what moves to allow you to speak. So on the emotional level.

What are you not speaking up about? Who are you too afraid to speak up to?

Remedies: I reference podcast episode 23 to help work on releasing your jaw and emotions.

Internal work- make sure you have a good therapist who works inside your mouth (gloved) around your neck and your whole body.

Be aware of what’s going on for you, stress, people, emotions.

Start practising speaking up for yourself little by little.

Send me a message if you have any questions [email protected]
