This is something that Erica Mather calls “The Happiness Trap” with our bodies.

 

Erica is the author of Your Body, Your Best Friend: End the Confidence-Crushing Pursuit of Unrealistic Beauty Standards & Embrace Your True Power. She is a 1000-hour certified yoga therapist, helping people feel better in and about their bodies. She uses yoga therapy to help the injured, ill, and aging, and her programs to help people change their perspective on the purpose and value of their bodies.
