    • BYD (Build Your Dreams), a Chinese firm, has secretly unveiled South Africa's cheapest electric automobile. The new BYD Dolphin is a mid-sized electric hatchback comparable to the Toyota Corolla and Mazda3. Dolphin offers two versions, with pricing starting at R539,900 for the base model and R599,900 for the extended range.

    • The Johannesburg High Court ruled that renowned law firm Edward Nathan Sonnenberg Inc. (ENS) was culpable for the woman's fall victimization to a common cybercrime known as "business email compromise" (BEC), and that the firm was ordered to pay the woman R5.5 million plus interest in addition to her legal fees. However, the Supreme Court of Appeal reached a different decision this week, sustaining ENS's appeal against the six-month-old ruling.
