INTERVIEW: Today I’m in conversation with Avril Louise Clarke, a clinical sexologist and project manager for Erika Lust's non-profit project The Porn Conversation. On the podcast today we are talking all about pornography — the deep prevalence of it, the secrecy, the harm, the benefits, the ethics, and important cultural indications. Born and raised in Miami, Avril has always had a passion for women's issues, politics, and the access and availability of comprehensive sex education. As we cover the pornographic landscape Avril shares just the sheer scale of the adult entertainment industry and how we can become porn literate: engaging with porn in a healthy and pleasurable way and how we can use it as a tool to open up the conversation in hopes of bettering our sexual expression, communication, and exploration.
