It’s now the end of January. How are you doing on reaching your goals for 2019? One of the best ways to improve your chances of success is to enlist an accountability partner. In this episode Helen & Jerry share the value of accountability partnerships.
Trying to reach a goal alone is difficult. According to a study by the American Society for Training and Development, 25% of people who set a goal, have enough internal motivation to actually achieve it. Those who establish a deadline for completing their goal, increase their odds by 40%. However, if the person announced their goal to someone else and gave themselves some external accountability, they had a 65% chance of success. It gets better. If they committed themselves to an accountability partner and met with them regularly, they had a 95% chance of successfully reaching their goal.
Those who have an accountability partnership have a distinct advantage over those who don’t. Accountability partnerships are useful for exercise goals, self care goals, study goals, work goals, and life goals in general.
