Oz is back!!! Today we're sitting down for a casual (and very chaotic) catch-up on life lately. We're talking about Oz turning 30 and his birthday, what he's been learning from reading the Bible, movies, life, relationships, random things we've been thinking about... and doing our best to record a podcast while our cats apparently have other plans for us. There isn't one big lesson or perfectly organized theme to today's conversation. It's just us. Talking. Laughing. Getting distracted. Going down random rabbit holes. And letting you hang out with us for a little while. Honestly, these are some of my favorite conversations to record because you get to see a completely different side of our lives and relationship than you normally hear in my solo episodes. In today’s episode of The Queen of Pep Talks Podcast, I’m sharing 7 things I wish someone had told little me — and the beliefs I’ve had to unlearn as an adult to become the woman I am today. This conversation is about body image, food, people pleasing, self-trust, expectations, and giving ourselves permission to question the things we were taught to believe about ourselves. Because maybe growing up isn’t about learning anything new. Maybe it’s about unlearning what we were never meant to believe. If this episode resonated with you, I’d love if you took 30 seconds to follow the show, leave a rating or review, and share this episode with a woman who might need to hear it. Your engagement with this podcast means the world to me. XO Watch on YouTube.

I crashed out last week. And once I got through the frustration, disappointment, and emotions of it all, I realized there was a lesson underneath it that I really needed: I am way too attached to the outcomes of things. In today's episode, we're talking about what happens when you care deeply about something, do everything you can to make it work, and then have to accept that you still can't control how it turns out. We're talking about releasing control, managing expectations, navigating disappointment, and learning how to give your best effort without making your happiness dependent on the result. Sometimes peace doesn't come from getting the outcome you wanted. Sometimes it comes from finally realizing you don't need to control it. If you're a recovering perfectionist, chronic overthinker, or someone who struggles to let go when life doesn't go according to plan, this one's for you. XO.

Have you ever eaten a full meal, known you weren’t physically hungry anymore…and still found yourself standing in the kitchen looking for something else? For years, I made those moments mean I lacked willpower. But what I eventually learned is that sometimes we aren’t looking for more food — we’re looking for relief, comfort, stimulation, reward or a way to change how we feel. In today’s episode, I’m breaking down some of the reasons we eat when we’re not physically hungry, including emotional regulation, boredom, using food as our primary source of pleasure, and the restriction earlier in the day that can leave us feeling completely out of control later. On today's episode of The Queen of Pep Talks, Jessica breaks down the lies binge eating tells — and why they feel true even when they're not. From "you'll never be normal around food" to "you're the only one who does this," she unpacks how shame keeps the cycle alive and what it actually takes to stop believing the story.
