This episode is a special one since my sister Wendy is my guest! She went through the discovery that she had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which is the autoimmune form of having an underactive thyroid condition. Wendy was living her life as a mother, a wife, and a working woman. She thought it was normal not to have the energy that she once had, to have headaches, to feel overwhelmed, to have some digestive issues, and urinary tract infections. But it was not, normal shouldn't feel this way!
In this episode, Wendy shares her story, because this is the way we learn, hearing the stories of other women and their struggles, realizing we are not alone. Wendy is currently in remission for Hashimoto's even when she was told by her doctors and endocrinologist that this was just not possible; she achieved this by prioritizing her body and health.

This episode is dedicated to what our daughters need to know about their changing bodies, their hormones, and their health. This time I am talking about eight to thirteen years old girls, the signs and symptoms of puberty coming on, and then the different transformations happening during the teen years and early twenties.
There are serious gaps in the education and information that is delivered to children and adolescents, and my aim today is to give valuable information about the female body, its chemistry, physiology, and biology, focusing on the hormonal and endocrine systems.
Being a woman is amazing and I want every girl to truly believe in this and to know that health is possible in every stage, phase and age.

We've all experienced it -- the point in life where you recognize something is no longer serving you. You know you need to up-level and make a change, but you're not sure how to go about it.
In today's podcast episode, I'm pleased to be accompanied by Megan Schmidt. After the birth of her baby, Megan suffered from postpartum anxiety, had debilitating fatigue, a husband who was working shifts and she reached the realization that she needed to find something different for herself — because the way she was feeling just wasn't working anymore.
She was so busy serving everyone else, that she let herself down time and time again. She was just surviving every day.
Today she shares the story of how she found herself again and learned to thrive.
Megan is a plant-based health coach, yoga instructor, mindset mentor, host of The Align Wellness Podcast and mom to three girls. She teaches women how to become healthier, happier and more fulfilled by showing them how to practice better self-care and manage their minds.

On Bell Let's Talk Day, I tried to create a post about one of the times that challenged me the most in my life...but I came up short.
I started to cry before I could even write it. This wasn't something I could truthfully share about in 350 words or less.
So, I decided to record a personal podcast episode for you instead...
You might watch my social media feed or my content and think I have it all figured out. That things flow effortlessly for me.
This is certainly not true.
I have felt sad and unmotivated in my life, and I believe that sharing my struggle will bring me closer to you and to all women.
We all struggle, we all go through rough times and vulnerability doesn't make us weak -- it makes us human.
Which is why today, I'm sharing about the time in my life where I had to embrace a lack of control, and what was one of my greatest struggles to date...when I became a mother for the first time.
Even though motherhood was everything I wanted, it wasn't easy, it was actually draining, exhausting, and stressful.
Until I learned to embrace that I didn't need to fix anything, but rather to go along with the awesomeness of this somewhat chaotic experience, accepting and surrendering to the process.
I hope this episode inspires you and softens some of the edges that you feel around this subject...
