I’ve been in business for 24 years, and I always hear people ask this question—“What’s my purpose? How do I find my purpose?” It gets to a point where people hyper-focus on it, as if they’re afraid to go through life and miss their purpose altogether. It can be anxiety inducing, at a certain point.
Over the years, I’ve studied and become more aware of the fact that we’re actually in our purpose all the time. From the moment of conception until death (and maybe even beyond), we’re in our purpose…whether we know it or not. So, what we’re really seeking is to be conscious of our purpose.
When’s the last time you asked yourself whether or not you like the quality and content of your current life? How excited are you about your life? Because the truth is… you give yourself what you feel you deserve.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
Plus, I share my perspective on attachment. The things that we have in our life, are things we’re being blessed with. Once they’ve served their useful purpose, it’s time to let them go and bless somebody else with them.
But many people don’t view it that way. They hold onto things the way a hoarder would. They get emotionally attached to things that end up cluttering their life and making it more complex. This blocks them from creating the life they want—a life of purpose and meaning.

The post Do You Truly Get What You Feel You Deserve? Unraveling Self-Worth appeared first on The Successful Mind Podcast.
Someone recently asked us, “What do you do?” Here at Life is Now, Inc., we’re basically business consultants. But our secret sauce is that we help you uncover your current “operating system”—a.k.a. your mindset.
As a business owner, your mindset is responsible for your results. If you don’t know what your operating system is, then you don’t know what needs to change in order to get different results. We help people understand their operating system, while helping them strategically move forward to get the results they want. So, our work is based in two parts—mindset and strategy.
In this episode, we discuss:
Everyone’s operating system works under the law of cause and effect. Your internal vision of yourself, your external vision of your world, and your strategy to work with both are all governed by the law of cause and effect.
Your operating system is causing your results to show up. Your results include your circumstances, your environment, and the people, places, and things in your life. If you don’t like your current results, then you have to change your operating system to get a different result.

The post Master Your Mind: Understanding Your Current Operating System appeared first on The Successful Mind Podcast.
My CEO, Steph Tuss, is a member of a group of full high-end business owners. Recently, the conversation in those circles has been around the recession and whether anyone has seen changes in buying patterns or habits. Several business owners have seen massive changes—so they’re retooling their programs and repricing things to get their business moving in the right direction.
The truth is, recessions are cyclical. They’re part of an economic cycle in which the economy resets itself. Since the Great Depression, there have been 14 recessions. More millionaires were made during the Great Depression than any other time before that—not because they took advantage of people, but because they had legitimate businesses that brought value to the marketplace.
So, this isn’t the first recession we’ve been in. My company has seen these patterns before. It’s not that people don’t have money to spend—it’s they’re holding onto their money, due to uncertainty.
In this episode, we discuss:
A recession is a great time to build a business, especially if you can solve specific problems for people. It allows you to create opportunities to provide more service to the marketplace. You just have to look for those opportunities.
If your buyers have stopped buying, then you need to look at how you can do things differently in your business.

It can be tough to keep your mindset in the right place, especially in a world loaded with uncertainty.
I’m here to tell you there’s no need to wait for the other shoe to drop. It’s time to make the rest of the year, the best of the year.
I have an incredible gift for finding better ways of helping leaders like you make a huge impact in not only your own life, but the lives of the clients you work with.
That is why I’ve decided to host a FREE 4-part series called:
HOW TO WIN BIG DURING A RECESSION
During this FREE 4-part series I plan to cover how to control your thinking, inspire your team, and dominate your market, no matter what that market may be. This will allow you to face any changes the recession may bring head-on, proactively instead of reactively.
Make plans to join me June 12th through June 15th and take the steps to recession-proof your mindset and win big in the months and years ahead.

The post Understanding the Recession and It’s Impact on Buyer Psychology appeared first on The Successful Mind Podcast.
Julie Dell Phillips is an actress who followed her vision of moving to LA, even though she was married with kids. She lived in San Antonio, Texas, for 12-14 years doing auditions, dropping her kids off early for school, driving to Austin, Dallas, or Houston to do auditions—then racing back home. She loved acting and wanted more of it.
In 2016 she met Steph and me. Julie admitted, “I want to move to LA and be an actor.” We told her, “Then that’s what you need to do.”
When you have a white-hot, burning desire to do something, you have to “burn the ships.” You can’t give yourself an out. You have to believe in yourself and bet on yourself in a way you never have before. And that’s exactly what Julie did. It paid off, because eventually she was nominated and became a finalist for best supporting actress in one of her roles.
In this episode, we discuss:
Julie faced a crazy amount of rejection—hundreds, if not thousands of auditions she submitted that she never heard back from. “The quicker you accept a rejection (or no response) and let it go—the better,” she says. She used a gratitude practice to keep herself focused in the right direction.
Most people never would have done what she did. They would have given up a long time ago; or they never would have gone after their dreams in the first place. But for Julie, acting was a white-hot, burning desire.

“Stir up the God-given gifts inside you.” – 2 Timothy 1:6
During a recent Million Dollar Morning session, I taught our Elite Mind group about this quote. Many people don’t stir up the God-given gifts inside of them. They don’t even admit they have these gifts, let alone do everything with them. Often these gifts got shut down during childhood, because we were embarrassed or it triggered our parents.
If you’ve had a dream or desire that’s been with you for a long time—you’ve got to see where it goes. It’s usually tied to your God-given gifts.
In this episode we discuss:
To stir up your God-given gifts, you must first recognize that those gifts exist in you. You have to grow, learn, mature, and direct your gifts in a way that’s productive.
Everyone’s gift is different. Most people talk themselves out of taking action on their gifts. The excuses in their head are so strong, screaming at them, that they end up staying exactly where they were—and their dream passes them by.

When’s the last time you felt impatient? Impatience is a terrible, uncomfortable place to be in for most people. It makes you feel out of control and can cause you to second guess your original decisions. Many entrepreneurs struggle with impatience, especially those who have a team. People, relationships, and team members can test our patience and make us feel like we’re not getting our needs met.
At the root of impatience is fear—a feeling of frustration and being out of control. We become afraid that we might lose something. We create a story or consequence in our mind around not getting the thing we’re being impatient about.
How can we navigate this uncomfortable emotion?
In today’s episode we discuss:
If you’re ever feeling impatient, just ask yourself, “What am I afraid of?” If you release attachment to the idea you have in your mind, then you won’t be so tied to the outcome that you feel impatient about. Just accept the situation and surrender to it.

What do you do when you get upset with someone, such as a member of your team? Do you make assumptions and judgments about the person?—or do you have a conversation with them and approach the situation with curiosity?
Whenever you’re triggered by something, you can set your emotions aside and put yourself in a state of curiosity. Ask questions like, “Tell me, how did you come to make this decision?” Or, “What were the key factors you used to evaluate making this decision?”
When you’re judging and making assumptions, you’re not being curious. You’ve already decided what happened and why—but you might miss some key learnings about why the person did what they did.
In today’s episode we discuss:
Plus, I share the story of Herbie the dachshund who couldn’t walk due to arthritis—and how I had a product I knew would help him walk again, and I wouldn’t take “no” for an answer.

The post The Surprising Benefits of Prioritizing Curiosity Over Judgment appeared first on The Successful Mind Podcast.
Throughout the ages, many great spiritual leaders have talked about the art of detachment. We want good things in our lives, but we don’t want to get attached to them. Even the Ten Commandments say, “Thou shalt not put any other gods before me.”
What’s the difference between expectation and attachment? In business, you can have a healthy mindset of “expecting the sale,” without expecting who it comes from. Attachment can show up during sales calls when a person doesn’t close the sale, and this leads to disappointment. People will often beat themselves up for weeks over a lost sale or a mistake instead of just learning the lesson, letting it go, and being grateful for the lesson.
There’s a difference between expecting a result and being attached to it. Attachment often stems from the fear that, “I’m not going to get the thing I want.”
In today’s episode we discuss:
Everything in our lives is here for a season. But we don’t know how long that season will last or when it will end. When time runs out on a particular thing in our lives, we need to let it go. Be blessed by it, then let it go.
In business, that might look like something that’s not serviceable anymore. It could be a marketing system, a way of selling, an advertising strategy, or something that worked great in the past, but no longer works now. Just let it go, be grateful for how it blessed you, and release it, so that you’re not attached to it.
We can’t bring in anything else good until we detach from whatever we were previously attached to.

Do you know what causes success to show up in your life? To be honest, when faced with this question most people can’t pinpoint the true cause of success, and that’s a huge problem.
After coaching thousands of entrepreneurs over the years, I can confidently say, the foundation of success is the act of following through on what you say you are going to do.
And the truth is, most people might be able to follow through on their word to someone else, but lack that ability to follow through for themselves. This can lead to all sorts of internal and external issues, like resentment, loss of opportunity, self-sabotage, and so much unrealized potential.
So, if this is something you’d like to learn more about, I’d like to personally invite you to a very special virtual event I’m hosting May 3rd, 4th, and 5th, called: Unleash Your Inner CEO: A Mindset Mastery Bootcamp.
In this 3-day virtual bootcamp I’ll help you begin to re-wire the way you think and act, so that you can develop incredible follow-through that leads to the success you’d been missing out on. I’ll be covering topics like – how to upgrade your identity, how to end self-sabotage for good, and how to recognize opportunity for business growth that could be right here, right now! All of which wouldn’t be possible without the ability to do what you say you’re going to do.
So, if you know you need better follow-through in your life, plan to join me for Unleash Your Inner CEO: A Mindset Mastery Bootcamp for what is sure to be a transformational three days.

The post The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Detachment: Letting Go of Fear and Embracing Opportunity appeared first on The Successful Mind Podcast.
The law of “more life” says there’s an intelligence in the universe operating behind everything—and this intelligence keeps life moving in a forward direction. Energy is always moving forward, towards “more life.” We see this in nature, as everything is always moving forward.
But does “more life” always mean “more”? Many business owners misinterpret this law to mean “more equals better”—more clients, more revenue, more growth. Many entrepreneurs attach their identity to the size of their business or income. They talk about how many millions they made this year, yet they don’t talk about how much profit they make.
More life doesn’t actually mean more—unless that’s part of your vision and your purpose. Everything you do in business should revolve around your purpose and your vision (not just “more” for more’s sake).
In this episode, we discuss:
The idea is to make things better, not necessarily to grow and scale. “More life” can simply mean “better”—better clients, better service, a better team, a better business.

The post Quality over Quantity: Redefining ‘More Life’ appeared first on The Successful Mind Podcast.
How do you handle jealousy and envy? Everyone has experienced these two emotions at some point in their life. But you may not know that they can both teach you something about your suppressed self. These emotions indicate that there’s something you want more of inside of yourself, but you’re not allowing yourself to have it—for some subconscious reason. And this can usually be tied back to our childhood and our suppressed self.
Jealousy is based in fear. You see someone experiencing something you want, and you don’t think you can be, do, or have that thing—and it feels like something’s being taken away from you.
Envy is a sign that you want more of something in your life, but you’re not allowing yourself to have more of that thing in your life.
In this episode we discuss:
If you find yourself experiencing jealousy or envy, ask yourself, “What do I want?” What are you NOT giving to yourself that you want?
Do you want more support in your life? Do you want to be more visible? Do you want more money? What’s the underlying message behind the jealousy or envy?
