As children, most of us were taught that life is all about staying safe. We were never taught how to experience the best life possible, or how to create something nobody’s ever created before. We weren’t taught to figure out what we want, or how to make our dream a reality.
We were taught to avoid anything “risky” that could go wrong. We were taught to prioritize “safety” above all else. But the idea of safety is a complete illusion. We’re never really “safe.” At any moment, life can change.
Most people tend to avoid anything that jeopardizes their sense of safety—even if it’s something they want. Unfortunately, this way of viewing life creates a “blind spot,” which causes us to NOT see how we can make our dreams a reality.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
Give this episode a listen to understand how this sneaky blind spot gets created!

Today we’re going deeper into the topic of the role(s) you took on in childhood—and how these roles were created out of shame and guilt.
A role is basically an agreement between you and your parents for you to be a certain way, and to never change that. If you don’t do the internal work to change your role, you’ll be stuck being that person for the rest of your life.
When we’re first born, we have no self-image. We can’t consciously reflect on who we are. We don’t even know who we are yet. All we can do is take in everything that’s going on around us. Whatever we’re exposed to on a regular basis (as far as emotions go) becomes part of how we see the world.
From a young age, most of us were shamed into changing our behavior and suppressing who we naturally are. We internalized a core image of ourself based on shame and guilt. It’s like a computer hard drive—the programming causes us to grow up and be “robots” for the world instead of being our authentic, individual selves.

The post The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 364 – David From The Stage: The Roles We Chose – Part II appeared first on The Successful Mind Podcast.
In today’s episode I’m teaching on the “roles” we took on as kids in our family dynamic, and how they affect our adult life today.
From the moment we’re born, we learn that we need other people in order to survive and be secure. It all starts with the connection between us and Mom. We’re physically connected to our mother before we’re born. Once we’re born, that connection is cut (via the umbilical cord). After we’re disconnected from our mother physically, we start trying to connect emotionally through sounds, gestures, and crying.
Most people go through their entire life trying to regain that metaphorical connection or keep it alive to some degree…and that’s what causes us to take on “roles.”
In this episode you’ll learn:
There are hundreds of roles we can play throughout our life. Ultimately, the role was designed to protect us from something. Unless we become conscious of our role, we’ll most likely carry it throughout our adult life. Once we become aware of it, we can begin to change it, and step into our authentic self. Then we can start to express ourselves more fully in life.

Today I have an amazing guest, Josh Aryeh. Otherwise known as Batman, he turned his car into the “Batmobile,” so that he could help sick children going through dark times find happiness.
Growing up as a car enthusiast, Josh always loved exotic cars such as Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Bentleys. Through his organization, Smiles Through Cars, he and his team make hospital visits to kids and adults who are battling cancer or other illnesses. He shows up as “Batman” to brighten their day. Many of them have dreams of going inside a Lamborghini, so he takes people for a ride.
As an entrepreneur, Josh has been involved in real estate, venture capital, and various businesses, including previously working with the Chocolate Factory. However, his true passion is giving back and volunteering as Batman. Since he started, he’s visited more than 20,000 children, helping them find light during their darkest moments. Josh also visits kids with autism, kids who are bullied, and those who’ve experienced domestic violence. For that brief visit, whether it’s for a minute or an hour, the child gets to be a child—sometimes for the first time. The memories created for the families are priceless.
Smiles Through Cars has been in six states, including Nevada, California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. His organization also helps adults who are in their 50s and 60s, battling cancer, and who’ve always wanted to sit in an exotic car. “I mean, if it makes that person happy, why not? To me it’s about spreading hope and inspiration,” he says.
To hear more of Josh’s story, give this episode a listen!

Today BT and I are diving deeper into Neville Goddard’s “law of assumption,” which comes from his book, The Power of Awareness.
Neville was an American author who taught from a perspective of higher truth. He fully believed in what he was teaching and got tremendous results in his own life. He was confident that you could change your life by changing how you think about and speak into the “problems” you might be having.
The law of assumption is about using your imagination correctly and “assuming” the right things. We’re always assuming things, all the time. Are your assumptions helping you manifest what you want?…or what you don’t want?
Using our imagination is the first step in creating what we want. We can build an image of something we want in our mind, even if we don’t yet have it in our hand. When we focus on that image—and stay in the conscious expectancy of it—we start to assume it’s going to happen.
In this episode you’ll learn:
You have to yield to that feeling of the wish being fulfilled. In that yielding, expect amazing things to come your way.

The post The Successful Mind Podcast – Inside Episode 361 – Neville Goddard & The Law of Assumption appeared first on The Successful Mind Podcast.
In today’s episode I’m teaching on a powerful concept known as the “law of assumption.” It comes from Neville Goddard’s book, The Power of Awareness.
Drawing on Christian tradition, Goddard says you can master your life by mastering your assumptions. Every moment of your life, you’re always assuming a feeling, whether it’s consciously or unconsciously. This is as natural as eating or drinking. All of your experiences are the result of whatever you’re assuming.
To have a happier, more liberated life, you must control the nature of your assumptions. You must persist in the assumption that your desire is already fulfilled —and assume you’re already the person you want to be.
The law of assumption is based on the idea that everything is already created. All the knowledge that ever was, or ever will be, is 100% equally present in all places at the same time. Even if we don’t have something in the physical realm, it lives in the spiritual or potential realm—in the all-ness of the universe. You can change circumstances that seem unchangeable, simply by the power of your assumption.
In this episode you’ll learn:
When you rest in the assumption that you’re already the person you want to be…you’ll no longer have any reason for fear, worry, or doubt!

The Universe can only give you what you pursue in it. Unfortunately, fear stops most people from pursuing what they desire—including fear of rejection in sales. Elite people move past their fears.
If you’ve ever wanted to be an elite person…you must rewire and reprogram your brain to think like an elite person. One of the best ways to do this is by “doing a little more than what you said you’d do yesterday.” By adopting this philosophy, you’ll stay on a path of continuous growth and keep moving forward.
In today’s episode BT and I dive deeper into “the premise of pursuit.” You’ll learn:
Price Pritchett said, “You must leave the cover of safety that goes with merely wishing for something. You must place your trust in action. Ask, seek, knock, and the dream shall be yours.”
How many doors aren’t open to you, because you didn’t knock on them?

Wishing, wanting, and desiring aren’t the same as pursuing a dream. These mental states can play an important role in creating a quantum leap. However, they’re essentially passive.
Pursuit, on the other hand, is active. Pursuit is about taking action and reaching for your dream—actually doing something to make it a reality. The world behaves differently when you take action to go after what you want. Pursuit is what makes the difference.
If you study the world’s most elite, successful people, nearly all of them have some of kind “pursuit” story. Many of them ran into walls, roadblocks, and hearing others tell them “No” over and over again. The people who win in life are those who go past the no’s. They go past the resistance, the denials, and the failures—and they keep going. They do whatever it takes.
In today’s episode, you’ll learn:
Don’t miss it! Pursue your dream and go hard on what you want.

Joshua Esnard is the “accidental” inventor of The Cut Buddy, a device that helps you avoid making errors while cutting your own (or someone else’s) hair. The Cut Buddy has been featured on the popular show, Shark Tank, and over 80,000 people have used it to cut hair.
In today’s episode, Joshua shares a bit on his story. Originally from St. Lucia (a small developing country), he invented his product at the age of 13 while living in Ithaca, New York. For many years, his dad cut his hair using the only style he knew—the buzz cut. Joshua wanted to look cool, so he started cutting his own hair. But he inadvertently gave himself bald spots. “I looked like a cheetah,” he says.
He began playing with the idea of inventing something that would help him cut hair without making errors. Fast forward fifteen years later…his girlfriend pointed out, “You never finish what you start”—and this casual comment set in motion Joshua’s determination to bring The Cut Buddy to life. He met with a lawyer, filed a patent, and went through many challenges and obstacles to bring his product to the marketplace. (Side note: he ended up being mentored by Daymond John from Shark Tank!)
Joshua’s mission is to “make haircuts easy” and to help people gain confidence in their appearance and their ability to cut hair well. His product is especially useful for those with disabilities, mental health issues, and dexterity issues.
