In this episode, I sit down with Clare, the co-founder of the innovative app SenLife, @senlifeuk. Clare opens up about her journey as a mother raising two neurodivergent sons, who are now teenagers. Together, we explore the complexities of parenting in a neurodiverse family and the questions that often run through Clare’s mind, such as, "Why are we doing this activity, and is it truly helpful for our family?"
Clare shares how this reflective approach has transformed her parenting style, allowing her to engage her sons in meaningful conversations about what works for them. We discuss the importance of advocating for their needs, even when it means going against the grain of conventional expectations.
Additionally, we dive into the SenLife app, which Clare co-developed to support parents of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The app helps families stay organized, manage appointments, and keep track of important documentation, making the daily challenges of parenting a little more manageable.
