On this week’s mini episode, Haley speaks with sport & cultural historian Dr. Jane Hunt. Dr. Hunt is an assistant professor at Bond University and author of Multisport Dreaming: The Foundation of Triathlon in Australia. Last month Dr. Hunt launched her latest project, the Women in Triathlon History (WITH) Project. This project is seeking to analyze women’s participation in triathlon on a very broad level, and to use the narrative of women who are participating in the sport to help inform how we can strategize to better work toward gender equity in triathlon. The WITH Project is seeking input from women who participate in triathlon at all levels - and they need our help. Dr. Hunt is gathering information from women through an online questionnaire on the WITH Project website. Answers can be as detailed or brief as you have time for, but if a written questionnaire is not your cup of tea, you can contact the project through the website to schedule an online interview to speak to Dr. Hunt directly about your experiences in triathlon. Dr. Hunt’s hope is that she will be able to reach as many women as possible so we encourage all of our listeners to participate!
