JessK and JessB get the opportunity to sit down and speak with trauma specialist and EMDR practitioner, Maryalyce Torpy of Rapid Trauma Recovery based in Alexandria, Virginia. In this episode, Maryalyce offers some valuable insight into what we are all experiencing during this traumatic time, and how to navigate our way through the tumult. Having an extensive history with trauma and recovery, both as a person and a professional, Maryalyce gives validation to the anxiety we are all feeling, and offers some simple suggestions we can all employ to get us to the other side of trauma, to living in a space of post traumatic growth.

MaryAlyce Torpy is a licensed clinical therapist specializing in military trauma, PTSD and moral injury.  She began her career serving five years in the Air Force as an A-10 crew chief.  Following her time in service, MaryAlyce attained a Master’s Degree in Social Work/International Development, moving over to civil service, providing therapeutic treatment to those returning from combat.   Over the past six years, MaryAlyce has established a private practice in Alexandria, VA with a focus on supporting active duty military and veterans.   She provides individual therapy with evidence based, effective treatment modalities, specifically EMDR & ART.
