Today's minisode was inspired by one of my listeners who wrote to me with an affirmation that she uses to help her reframe her single status: You don't have to be chosen, to be a good choice.

In this week's Thursday's Thoughts, Polly and I are talking all about manifestation.
The term manifestation often gets dismissed as being too ‘woowoo’; but I like to think of it as simply ‘making shit happen.'
When we decide what we want, believe that it’s possible for us, and start taking small, aligned actions, we will get there…IF we keep moving towards it and don’t quit at the first hurdle.
In this conversation, Polly and I talk about things that we’ve manifested into our own lives, as well as our thoughts around what we need to do in order to bring those things to fruition.
We hope you’ll find something useful in here!
Love,
Polly & Lucy x

On today's minisode, I'm talking about my fascination with Stoicism, and a book I'm currently reading, The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday & Stephen Hanselman.
Stoicism is a philosophy designed to make us more resilient, happier, more virtuous and more wise – and subsequently, better people. At the heart of this philosophy is the idea that we don’t control the world around us, but we do control how we respond to it.
I hope you'll find something useful in here.

In this week’s episode, I’m talking to the brilliant Rhaina Cohen.
Rhaina is an award-winning producer and editor for NPR's documentary podcast, Embedded. Based in Washington DC, she’s produced, edited, and reported stories for shows across NPR, and written for various publications including The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and The New Republic. Her Atlantic article, “What If Friendship, Not Marriage, Was at the Center of Life?” was named a “Best of 2020” article by Longreads.”
Rhaina’s first book, The Other Significant Others, tells the stories of people who make a friendship the central relationship in their lives—owning homes together, raising kids together, or caring for each other for decades. Like romantic couples, these friends form a “we.” The book comes out on 13th February 2024.

On today's Monday Motivation, Polly and I are talking all about kindness.
Being kind to others is a win-win, because it not only makes the person receiving the kindness feel good, it also makes us feel good. Plus...kindness has many health benefits, both physical and emotional.
If we prioritise spreading a little kindness every day, we truly are doing our bit to make the world a better place; because kindness is contagious, and when we're kind to someone else, they're more likely to be kind to somebody too.
We hope you'll find something useful in here.

On today's solo episode, I'm talking about my temporary - and rather sudden - move to Dorset.
I give you the lowdown on why I've moved back to the county where I was born and bred, as well as tie it into one of my favourite topics - mindset. The move is a really good example of why so much of how we feel about our life is down to the lens through which we're viewing it.
I sincerely hope you'll find something useful in here.

On today's minisode, I'm talking about why I think it's better to be bold than it is to be brainy. (Putting aside the fact that you can be both!)
Brains will get you so far, but it's those folks who dare to take bold action who really reap the rewards of life.

Let’s be real — being single and child-free? It’s pretty damn awesome. Don’t believe me? Stick around. I promise you, by listening to this podcast, you’re going to start seeing your solo life in a…
I’m Lucy Meggeson, and I’m here to help you stop seeing singlehood as a consolation prize and start embracing it as the incredible opportunity that it is. Because the truth? Being single isn’t second best. It’s not a waiting room. And it sure as hell isn’t a life of lack. In fact, when you lean into it, it can be just as fulfilling—if not more so—than being coupled up with kids.
And besides, no matter what our relationship status, what we all really want is to feel good in the here and now. So instead of focusing on what’s ‘missing,’ let’s focus on what’s possible. The freedom. The adventure. The extra time and headspace to create a life that’s truly our own.
Because here’s the thing: you are so much more powerful than you realise. Your thoughts shape your reality. And when you shift your mindset, you shift your life. My mission isn’t just to help you feel better about being single—it’s to help you recognise your own agency. To help you see that you are the creator of your own experience. And that you, and you alone, get to decide what your life looks like.
So join me here every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and let’s build lives that feel joyful, meaningful, and wildly fulfilling — on our own terms.
Let’s Thrive Solo…together.
