In this video I get to sit with Robert Woods. Also known as “Woodsy Workout” from his excellent YouTube channel, Robert is a HYROX athlete and personal trainer. Coming into HYROX with more of a strength background, we chat about how he has adapted his training to cope with the running demands of the sport, some of the mistakes he believes a lot of people make when training for HYROX, how he balances his strength training with endurance, some of what he considers to be the upper limit of strength requirements to compete in HYROX, how training, pacing and nutrition might differ between elite athletes and slower athletes, and much more.
It was a great chat with a thoughtful and impressive personal trainer and HYROX athlete.
Enjoy!
