This week on the show Haley and Alyssa are speaking with big mountain climber and trans rights activist Erin Parisi. Erin is currently attempting to be the first openly transgender person to climb the 7 Summits, which involves climbing the highest peaks on each of the seven continents. She is also the founder of the non-profit organization TranSending, which is dedicated to to the advancement of transgender rights throughout all aspects of society by promoting athletics as a platform of transgender awareness and inclusion. Erin talks with Haley and Alyssa about the importance of advocating for trans rights, providing role models for other transgender folks, and why she believes outdoor sports is such an important avenue for growth. She also gives us some of her best tips for getting our feet wet in the world of mountaineering.
