Food is all over this week’s episode, as the Gomers make each other hungry by discussing the fast food they can’t eat, the diets they’re off and on, the sandwiches they can fit in their pockets, the food revolutions they wish they could be a part of, the culinary podcasts they wish they’d thought of, and the food show hosts that are now game show hosts.
Oh, and bacon.
Plus all your favorite sections: Week in Review, Listener Feedback, an Eat and Run/Running in the Media Mashup, two new Tips from a Ten-Timer in the Runner’s Corner, and two new Songs to Run To. Happy Running!
This Week’s Survey: Do you eat WHILE you run? If so, what? And how? A curious Gomernation wants to know!
Spring isn’t the only thing sprung on this episode of the Two Gomers, especially when a very special guest shows up in the Runner’s Corner. Also, Gomer1 sets a PR in a race while Gomer2 tries to figure out how he feels about that. How sensi! Plus, a new fast food challenge for April, our first near-Code Brown in a while, some good news concerning New Super Mario Wii, and a little expert Peep commentary.
And all the regular features: Week in Review, Listener Feedback, Runner’s Corner, and two new Songs To Run To. Happy Running!
This week’s Monday Survey: We’ve come to grips with the fact that we’re not the only podcast you listen to – so let us know, what other podcasts do you love, running or otherwise? Now that our runs are getting long again, we need ’em!
Bonus: Go back in time and take a look atGomer2’s old-school blog. In this post, he flattens a peep to send it to readers as a prize for a contest based on his own blog. Weird.
This week, join the guys as they do their best to get “there,” whatever “there” means. Gomer1 re-inserts himself back into the training schedule, and Gomer2 heads to warmer climates for some recovery training, which includes catching a glimpse of the weirdest person he’s ever seen while on a run. Also, some classic half-marathon memories, a valiant but unsuccessful attempt by one Gomer to get the other Gomer to confess something, and the final Marriage Ref review ever on the podcast (Lord willing).
Plus what you always expect: Week in Review, Listener Feedback, Gomer’s Tips, two more Tips from a Ten-Time Marathoner in the Runner’s Corner, and two new (embarrassing but true) Songs To Run To. Happy Running!
It’s a shoe-centric Monday Survey this week: what’s your prefered brand of running shoe? Are you a loyalist when it comes to shoes?
Good news: Steven just ran his first mile since the accident. Sure, it’s a baby step, but it’s a BIG baby step.
What, you didn’t see that movie? Weird.
Also: Thrilling Daylight Savings Time discussions, Wii-related confessions, senior song confusions, and car talk, just like them guys on the NPR! Plus all the regular stuff: Week in Review, Listener Feedback, True Gomer Confessions, Two New Songs to Run To, and a new series in the Runner’s Corner: Top Ten Tips from a Ten-Time Marathoner. Wowzers!
This week’s Monday Survey: When the weather starts to get warm, do you forgo the car and run, walk, or bike to work? And speaking of cars, which is better, the Rav 4 or the CR-V? Just curious. Happy Running!
With Gomer2 still laid up in bed and Gomer1 recovering from the Half Marathon, it’s a slow running week. But you know better than to think they wouldn’t come up with PLENTY to talk about right? It’s what you’d expect: a weird mix of Oscar Chat, food tangents, weight updates, recovery observations, and new Spring TV reviews.
And yes, ok, there’s some running stuff! Week in Review, Listener Feedback, Eat and Run, Running in the Media, two new Songs to Run To, and the final two Rookie Mistakes in the Runner’s Corner – it’s all here. So plug in those headphones and let the Gomers distract you for another hour of your run!
Monday Survey this Week: Last week was Safety Tips, this week is Recovery Tips – have any? Steven could use ’em! Happy running!
Who thinks it’s a good idea for Gomer2 to take his meds right before recording, raise your hands. You might want to listen to this episode before you decide. The Gomers are back, baby, and doing their best to bring a little bit of normalcy back to the GomerNation. So expect a lot of the usual – TV Tangents, obscure pop culture references, weird Middle School nostalgia, non-sensical tips, and pipe dreams about who listens to their podcast.
And the regular features, too! Week in Review, Gomer’s Tips, Listener Feedback, Monday Survey, two new Songs to Run To, and two new Rookie Mistakes in the Runner’s Corner. And make sure you stick around till the end to hear their official announcement about the marathon (again)!
Monday Survey: The Gomers have safety on the mind…do you have any safety tips to share that they haven’t already? It’s just nice not to get hit by cars while you’re running, you know? Happy Running!
Gomer2 is still mostly bed-ridden in the aftermath of the big car accident, so the guys thought this would be the perfect time for their third Gomer Rewind. Join the guys as they take a look back at one of their favorite episodes from the first season, the one recorded one day before their first race. Not only are they both in the same room, but it’s in front of a live studio audience!
But wait, there’s more! Before the Rewind Steven gives a post-accident update, and the guys discuss what’s to become of the marathon, originally schedule for 4 weeks from now (gulp). And AFTER the Rewind, Anthony is joined by a very special guest to discuss running his second Half Marathon this past weekend. It’s a packed episode, we tell ya, PACKED!
This week’s Survey…er…there isn’t one. So much going on, the Gomers totally forgot. Oh well, Happy Running anyway!
The title explains it all, right? This past week Steven got hit by a car while on a run in the fair city of Denver, and he is able to sit up long enough to record a shorter episode so the Gomernation knows the details. And, more importantly, so they know he’s alright. The good news: he totally won against the Smart Car.
The details of the marathon are up in the air again (sound familiar?), but know this: The Gomers are here to stay. There WILL be a marathon. And that marathon WILL be run by Steven and Anthony, together. Recovery needs to happen, however, and so expect a little downtime from the Gomers in the weeks ahead, including a Gomer Rewind next week instead of a regular episode. Sorry about that!
And we need some advice. So, the first Monday Survey question: What the heck should we do now? Any ideas? And the second one isn’t so serious: With Steven on his back for the next several weeks, he’s looking for good books, music, TV, and movies to fill up the time. Shoot him some recommendations! Thanks, and Happy Running!
In a miraculous turn of events, BOTH Gomers had a good week this week, and they can’t wait to talk about it. Join them as they discuss being in control of their runs, who shouldn’t win the Oscar for best picture, eating while traveling, and the effect of weight-loss on cold temperature tolerance. And oh yeah, there is plenty of talk of the many celebrities in the Gomernation, real and fake.
And make sure you stick around for all the regular features: Week in Review, Listener Feedback, Gomer’s Tips, Eat and Run, two new rookie mistakes in the Runner’s Corner, and two new Songs to Run To.
And speaking of S2R2, if you haven’t let us know what yours are yet, tell us here or click on the tab on the right, we’re going to talk through some next week! And the other Monday Survey – What time of day do you run? Night, day, or in between?
Humble pie, anyone? The Gomers have a big slice they’d be willing to share. The good news is, most of the Gomernation has forgiven the guys for their insensitivity last week, and after an initial apology from their future selves, they’re ready to move on. Both of them ran a staggering 16 miles in a row this week, and they have tales to tell – some good, some not so good. And that makes them first scared, then motivated, and vice versa.
And don’t forget all the regular features: Week in Review, Eat and Run, Gomers Tips, Listener Feedback, two new Songs to Run To, and two new Rookie Mistakes in the Runners Corner. Happy Running!
This Week’s Monday Survey: What motivates you to keep going during those difficult runs? With the marathon fast approaching, we need all the help we can get!
