Diagnostic ultrasound or musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) has been used for decades in the healthcare industry. It is also within the scope of practice for almost all PTs in the U.S. However, very few PTs have taken the effort to learn how to use it because it is difficult to learn.
