I'm doing Prolon again after a 2-year gap. For the past 6 months, I've been doing a weekly 2-day water fast. Why would I try the FMD (Fasting Mimicking Diet) after getting a regular pattern of weekly water fasts? First of all, I noticed the 40-48 hours of water fasts are now passing by pretty quickly. It seems I'm adapting to it. I'm wondering if that has a biochemical adaption as well. I'm thinking it may be better to mix it up.
But there's the biggest thing: over 3/4 of my patients have a problem with weight. This is a great way to manage your weight. Sure, other things work - like water fasts. But I've seen VERY few people do water fasts. Low carb and Intermittent Fasting/ Time Restricted Eating also work very well for a long-term lifestyle change. But again, there are many methods for getting control of your weight - and CV inflammation - and Insulin Resistance. And these things are killing and disabling so many of us - any valid option should be seriously considered.
