The concept of ‘black-and-white’ or ‘all-or-nothing’ thinking kept coming up for me after chatting with someone from my community. This is something that I’ve personally struggled with, and I know sooo many other women have as well, so I knew it was time to bring it here.

 In today’s episode, I want to talk about breaking out of black-and-white thinking. For some reason, you think you only have two choices with EVERYTHING. You get stuck in these ‘extremes’ traps, and it’s like you can’t move forward until the ‘perfect’ conditions allow you to do so.

The black-and-white thinking is prevalent and dangerous now, more than EVER. You’re made to believe that it’s ‘you vs. them’, ‘good vs. evil’, ‘right vs. left’, and so on. But you know what?? The growth, opportunities, contentment, and pure happiness that comes from breaking FREE from this type of thinking is awaiting you on the other side! At the end of the day, your story is YOURS to write. How beautiful is that?!

Somatics truly is a fascinating modality; it’s the language of the body, and the nervous system is the operating system of the body. When you utilize somatics effectively (which Darci dives into later - you’ll love those!), your body goes back into homeostasis.

Something I wanted to do to kick off 2025 is the 75 Hard challenge. If you’re not familiar with this, it’s definitely not a challenge for everyone. It can very much put you in the ‘all or nothing’ mentality, and that can be difficult to break out of. (Been there, done that!) While I didn’t necessarily ‘need’ this challenge right now, I WANTED to do it, even in the freezing cold winter!

 In today’s episode, I want to talk about what it looks like to ‘do hard things’, and why you need to stop waiting for ideal conditions to start LIVING. If I would have tried to commit to 75 Hard last year, it would not have gone well!

Maybe you’re in a tough season with postpartum, parenting, farm life, or something else. While these seasons can be realllly freaking hard, they’re a part of our lives, and we’ve got to move through them. When we do the hard things and make it through hard seasons, we have an even deeper appreciation of all the GOOD! 

I hope this episode encourages you to get out there, and embrace your ‘winter’. Stop waiting for ideal conditions (i.e. spring and summer) before you enjoy and flourish in your life. You CAN do hard things, friend - you’re strong, and capable, and I believe in you!

Burnout seems to be EVERYWHERE these days; it’s usually connected to anxiety, and is the place you land right before depression sets in.  In today’s episode, I want to talk about going ‘beyond the pale’, because this particular phrase really stuck out to me, and I believe it’s something you will resonate with as well. If you look up what this actually means (which I of course did), you’ll find that it means to act in a way that is considered outside the bounds of ‘acceptable’ behaviors or standards. It may be seen as outrageous, offensive, unacceptable, and even shocking.

I know SO many of you are currently navigating a journey of doing something different. You’re going against the grain, and you may be getting pushback from those around you because yeah…it’s shocking, and they don’t want to accept it.

So often, we betray ourselves in our lives; we completely self-abandon what we *really* want to do for the sake of someone else’s comfort. It feels ‘easier’ and ‘safer’ when we stay with what we’ve always known, and continue to get approval from the world around us. But...that’s never going to allow you the joy, happiness, alignment, authenticity, and true freedom that you want in your life, is it?  I invite you to consider what going ‘beyond the pale’ looks like for you. What are you going to choose? What is *really* inviting you to step further outside of where you are now?

Today's guest (and my good friend) Kylie calls herself ‘your farm wife bestie’, but she wears many incredible hats. I personally LOVE the fact that we’re able to change, and try new things, and ultimately, find what really makes us, ‘us’. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be the same person 30 years from now that I am today - I sure hope I’ve evolved since then!

I no longer feel that I need to hold myself back from exploring the depths of myself, just to make myself more ‘palatable’ for society. It's in my human design to continuously be evolving and healing and connecting, and yes..getting outside of my comfort zone.

Maybe you’re in a season of ‘questioning’ too. But maybe you’re struggling with finding the courage to dig deeper, and start expanding in ways you never have before. My encouragement for you today is to just START! Give yourself permission to explore your curiosities and passions, and be open to learning new things that may be unexpected!

It’s time to give yourself the ‘gift’ of reinventing yourself, and start exploring what truly lights you up. I’m doing this with you - let’s start embracing the joy of reinvention together!
