In today’s episode, I want to talk about WHY developing your intuition can be challenging, and really, how to rebuild and reconnect with yourself so it doesn’t stay that way. I’ve talked about this a little bit on the podcast before, but as I’ve continued going deeper on my own journey, I’ve found that coming home to myself and knowing, loving, and trusting myself is such a spiritual experience that transcends consciousness. Intuition isn’t ‘flighty’ like the typical dictionary definition makes it out to be, but rather, a beautiful GIFT!

In today’s episode, I want to talk about the ‘lost art of using your brain box’, and why the unshakable calling for diverse perspectives, empathy, and critical thinking matters now, more than ever. For me, I’m questioning sooo many things - I feel a bit of a disconnect, because it’s uncomfortable, and I’ve still found myself thinking about other people and their opinions. Maybe you’re feeling similarly, because you’re questioning your thoughts and beliefs that you once had, but...you’re fearful to share, due to how others may react. But you know what? I’m so BEYOND the close-minded bullshit that we’ve been in proximity with for far too long!

I believe our purpose and who we truly are is meant to evolve and grow and change. Every step of our journey will get us closer to where we’re meant to be, and surrounding ourselves with others who are doing things a little differently is a beautiful part of the process! I wish that more people today would be curious, because curiosity creates empathy. We NEED to be willing to learn from others and their diverse perspectives, instead of being so misaligned and disconnected.

I’m honored to welcome my friend, Eliza Clayton, onto the podcast today!

Eliza has a pretty incredible story of (unexpectedly) turning her husband’s dental career into a booming, six-figure business, using social media, digital products, and more. However...Eliza grew up in a devoutly religious family, and after marrying young and having children, she felt like putting her family and their needs above everyone else is what her contribution ‘should’ be forever. Building a business (or anything of her own, really) was never on her radar. She loved supporting her husband, and she was taught to prioritize his dreams, no matter what.

Eliza has learned some valuable lessons since stepping into business too. What you bring to the table does matter, and just because you don’t feel ‘qualified’ to do something, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t move forward, and take action! The success that this business has brought for Eliza and her family has tremendously impacted not only how she sees herself and her role in her family, but her overall confidence too.

• Eliza’s journey of supporting her husband with his start-up dental practice, to unexpectedly blowing up in the online space & creating a thriving business for her family

I don’t know about you, but for me, this year’s games just felt different..in the best ways possible. So many women were competing, and for the first time ever, there was actually a 50/50 split between men and women! Women’s sports are definitely having their own moment right now, which I’m totally here for. I love the current movement that is women supporting and truly CELEBRATING other women too; I honestly never imagined this would be a reality for my generation, so it is pretty freaking inspirational to see! Since watching the Olympics and consuming the Olympic media in various places, I really wanted to share some of my favorite ‘nuggets’ (aka Olympic lessons) that hopefully you can implement into your own life as well.

• The incredible ‘moment’ that moms are having at the Olympics + how it shows us that we can be awesome moms and still pursue our dreams
• Why taking time for and prioritizing your mental and physical health doesn’t make you weak, but stronger and better than ever

I’m pumped to welcome my new friend, Amy Green Smith, onto the podcast today! I honestly feel she’s like my new best friend - she is SO freaking cool, and offers a very unique perspective on the topic of people pleasing (especially recovering people pleasers - I know there are many of us out there)!

Boundaries are one of those things that can feel pretty intimidating (to both people enforcing and receiving them), but they are extremely important when it comes to your self-worth and ‘enoughness’. Taking a three-pronged approach (like Amy recommends) can be incredibly beneficial when you’re ready to get serious about your boundaries and actually implement them (the follow through is key here). The world has plenty of badass, intelligent women who are incredibly brilliant, but they tend to doubt themselves, and feel like they don’t have ‘enough’ to offer. Contrary to what society had led us to believe, we ARE allowed to feel however the heck we want to, and we shouldn’t feel ashamed or ‘less than’ for our unique life decisions.

• What boundaries are + why they are incredibly important in regards to your self-worth and ‘enoughness’
• Why you should not allow your silence to make you a liar + using Amy’s three-pronged approach for setting boundaries when you need to have those tough conversations
