[Taiwan referendums in 2021 to see nearly 20 million eligible voters]

Nearly 20 million Taiwanese are eligible to vote in the four referendums scheduled for Dec. 18th, surpassing the number eligible in the 2020 presidential election.

The increase is a result of an amendment to the Referendum Act (公民投票法), which lowered the voting age for referendums from 20 to 18.

The referendums are on putting the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant back into service, banning the import of ractopamine-laden pork, allowing referendums to concur with a national election, and relocating the CPC (中油公司) LNG terminal from the proposed algal reef site off the coast of Datan (大潭).

[Istanbul’s local dog framed over poop on train]

“Boji,” Istanbul’s beloved stray dog who has captured hearts after being spotted by the city’s locals for regularly using public transport, has been framed and accused of pooping on a train.

Footage from a surveillance camera showed a man leaving the poop on the seat of a train, attempting to frame Boji and accuse him of leaving the feces on public transport.

[Turnspit Dog]

The Turnspit dog was widely popular in the 15th and 16th century for a task that would surprise most people. These dogs were used in the kitchen to help evenly cook meat.

How? The owners or kitchen workers would place the Turnspit dog on a wooden wheel, similar to a hamster wheel. Chains from the wheel were connected to a large metal spear which would pierce the dead animal whether it be deer, boar, large birds, etc. As the Turnspit dog would run, the large roasting animal over the fire would slowly turn, giving the food an even cook.

[A Sex and the City Revival Is Officially Coming to HBO Max]  

On July 9th, HBO Max shared the first official photo of And Just Like That..., featuring our leading trio Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Kristin Davis as Charlotte York.  

The wardrobe looks updated for 2021 but is no less chic with Miranda in cream wide-leg pants, Carrie in a tartan skirt and platform heels, and Charlotte in a polka dot off-the-shoulder number. 

 "And just like that, it was day one!!" Nixon wrote while sharing the photo on Instagram.

I'm a dude. I think a pretty classic, manly one too. I carry a knife. I don't wear skinny anything. I own road flares and paper maps. And guess what? I dig a good candle in the wintry north. I don't get why candles are almost exclusively marketed to women. What do you mean, "Valentine's Day Gift for Her"? This was a gift from me to me, and me is a he, and he has a hairy chest upon which many a beer has* been spilt. Seriously, when it's freezing cold and the sun is hibernating, there's nothing like a good, warm glow that eliminates my natural odor of fart and balls. The candles are even burning, very long-lasting, and have a pleasant but not too foo-foo smell. I'll take it.
