068 | AMA: The Best & Worst Of CrossFit and It’s Lasting Influence on Mainstream Fitness

Listen Later

In today’s show, I consider the impact, both positive and negative, that CrossFit has had on the fitness industry. CrossFit was a game changer when it first appeared in the early 2000s and broke free from the constraints of traditional training regimes. Its unorthodox approach led to improved fitness and increased adherence to exercise programs and many of us have CrossFit to thank for the variety, versatility, and efficacy of the workouts we enjoy today. It was the first fitness movement to create a culture and build a community that transcended what happened in the gym. It raised awareness of nutrition as well as fitness, advising its devotees to eat a Paleo-type diet that restricted starch and shunned sugar. CrossFit, with its high-intensity workouts, provided a sort of modern-day warrior training but problems started to occur when some people, (who were never designed to be warriors), began to embrace its gruelling high-intensity routines a little too enthusiastically.

Kion Coffee
Kion Coffee is medium roast, with a balanced, clean flavor and a smooth, rich body. You’ll taste notes of sweet apple, marzipan, and baking spices, and scrumptious dark chocolate as the cup cools.

Every batch of Kion Coffee is sourced with 100% organic Arabica beans that are grown and harvested on sustainable, fair-trade coffee cooperatives then roasted fresh in Colorado. Unlike most, including nearly all organic coffees, Kion Coffee is regularly tested to ensure its free of mold, mycotoxins, and pesticides.

And the just released Kion Decaf is the same delicious, organic coffee—minus the caffeine.

And rest assured, Kion uses pure mountain water to decaffeinate the beans, unlike most coffees that may use harsh chemicals. The result is a decaf coffee you can feel good about, and look forward to, day or night.

And now you can save 20% on your first order of any Kion Coffees with code “STACKED” at checkout at www.getkion.com/stacked
