If you are in an abusive relationship and are struggling to get out, you are likely trauma bonded. Trauma bonds are part of abusive and Narcissistic relationships.
When you're in one it feels impossible to break - and it feels like love. When we are in it, we don't really know that we want to break a trauma bond. We just know that we want to stop feeling the way we're feeling.
How do you know it is a trauma bond?
Do you feel you need to leave...but you just can't do it? Do you have a deep-rooted feeling of "I know I need to leave. I know he is mean. But if he would just stop yelling and listen to me. If I could just get him to understand that it's abusive, then things could be better...."
If you are accepting poor treatment but can't leave, you are likely in a trauma bond.
This podcast will unpack 10 signs of a Trauma Bond.
