Do you have fun every day? Fun is an essential part of your life and, as such, you need to prioritize it! Fun can help you destress, feel happier, and prevent burnout – it’s a winning situation. Let’s talk about the five steps you can take to have more fun in your everyday life.
How to Have More Fun:
Plan to Have Fun Every Day
When is the last time you had a lot of fun? Take a minute and think about it. If you can’t remember, I’m here to remind you that having fun is important! It’s as important as hitting your business and career objectives.
I know all too well how easy it is to say you don’t have time for fun. We all have busy lives and busy careers. I encourage you to plan time to have fun in your day. That way, you always have time to nurture your soul.
Not sure where to schedule that time in? I want you to look at how you distract yourself – do you spend hours scrolling social media? Why not replace that distraction time with fun time?
Having Fun is Important
I also think it’s important to avoid doing things that aren’t fun for you. Or, if you can’t avoid them completely, set your boundaries for them. Limiting the things in your life that aren’t fun for you will greatly improve your quality of life and happiness.
What it really comes down to, ladies is that fun is important. Doing fun things for yourself is essential to your entire being and will improve your life.
Fun is just as important as work. Trust me! Having fun can also help reduce your risk of burnout, and as busy physicians, we can all accept that that’s hugely important.
Are you making space for fun? When was the last time you had fun? What do you like to do for fun? Let me know in the comments on the episode page.

Quotes
“When I started to think about how I’m going to create more fun, I have to first acknowledge that it is really important that we have fun. It is very important that I have fun. Having fun and carving out time to have fun is just as important as being productive and creating new things in my business.” [6:00]
“We have to create the fun, but we have to plan for the fun. We can do that by starting small and thinking of one way you can create more fun in your day.” [13:18]
“Think about the things that are not fun for you. Give yourself grace that there’s nothing wrong with you if you don’t find them fun, you don’t have to do them, and you can set boundaries around them so that if it is something that you’re loved ones love to do, you can still do it, but it’s not carving into the time that you allow yourself for your own fun.” [24:23]
