Despite being born without the lower half of his left leg, it didn't really occur to Don Elgin or his parents that he had a 'disability' until he was in high school. In fact, when he told his parents about a thing called the Paralympics - a big event called for people with disabilities - his dad told him in no uncertain terms that he didn't have one.
