Ep 20 w/ Joasia Zakrzewski
2021 Ultra Great Britain women’s winner + record holder, Commonwealth Games competitor, run coach, medical doctor and all round well accomplished and incredibly modest running fiend.
In our conversation we chat all about Joasia’s recent running achievements including her win at Ultra Great Britain, the Australian 24-hour Track Invitational breaking 4 seperate records and another victory in the 240km Coast to Kosciusko.
Joasia shared her experiences in overcoming injury, listening to her body and her choice to no longer follow a rigidly structured training program.
Joasia is passionate about REDS and we get to hear her personal experience working through this and her thoughts around the importance of increasing its awareness. She shares on some of the signs and symptoms, the link with eating disorders, why it’s an issue for endurance athletes and who to seek for help.
Of course we couldn’t finish an episode without asking Joasia on some advice on shoe selection, hang around right til the end to hear this!
Thank you so much for all the love, we feel so grateful to have such an engaged running community diligently supporting the show. Feel free to send us a message, leave a review, send a DM, email or whatever takes your fancy!
Enjoy!
