In today’s episode, Carrington talks about the power of perspective and how two people can experience the exact same life event and make it mean two entirely different things. She tells her story of family rejection, malignant narcissism, and religious mind games.
For much of Carrington's life, it was a struggle just to survive, to hold it together, to stay above water.
Her childhood was filled with family rejection, malignant narcissism, and religious mind games. She has survived sexual assault, two divorces, piles of debt, abuse, the death of loved ones, and the loss of close friends. Determined not to let these events define her, she began her journey to self-acceptance. She learned the power of perspective and began to thrive when she changed her mindset.
Carrington is a single mom, attorney, business owner, and executive search professional. During the pandemic, she felt compelled to share her story; the story of an ordinary person. Candid and raw, her book, Blooming, tells of her journey from trauma to triumph. It takes you on a treasure hunt to discover the gifts in the shit. Shit is quite literally fertilizer. It is in the trauma and difficulties of life that we discover what we need to bloom into our greatness.
