Luke Nelson, award winning Chiropractor with 17 years experience in establishing a leading practice in Melbourne and current President of Sports Chiro Australia, joined us to discuss everything you need to know about the hip and running! If you've ever complained of tight hip flexors, sore hamstrings or weak glutes then this ep is FOR YOU! 

Luke's special interest is in treating sporting injuries and in particular running injuries (knee pain, ITB, Achilles pain, plantar heel pain). His unique approach takes a variety of different assessments and treatment techniques to get to the source of your problems and get you back on track.  A keen fitness enthusiast himself, Luke has completed 5 marathons, an ultra-marathon, and 2 Iron Man triathlons. 

In this conversation we cover basic hip anatomy, biomechanics, the stretching vs strengthening debate as well as some at home tests you can try out to see how strong your hips are! We delve into some of the risk factors, causes and treatment for hip bursitis and proximal hamstring tendinopathy.
