Ryan is a second degree Black Belt under Renzo Gracie, certified personal trainer & nutritionist, former NY Police Officer, as well as a fellow 1st Phorm athlete, and Ambassador for We Defy Foundation, Monkeytape, and Shoyoroll. Emily met Ryan when she started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the two have become fast friends. While at the studio, Ryan joined Emily in a recovery session with the cold plunge and sauna before starting the podcast. Today, he is sharing what got him into BJJ, his experience as a New York LEO, pushing through struggles and not giving up when things get tough.
