In The Circle

31. Moderation versus Zero Tolerance in Food Recovery

Listen Later

On this episode of In The Circle, I had the pleasure of speaking with Ruth, who bravely inquires about her path to recovery from food addiction. Ruth asks: Am I doing a disservice to those in early and long-term recovery when I talk about the foods that I have learned to eat in moderation?

While we never do a disservice to others by sharing our truths, it is important to remember that everyone is at different stages of their recovery journey, Everyone's journey is unique, and while sharing experiences is invaluable, it must be done with the listener's well-being in mind.

Listening to Ruth recount her battles with emotional eating, overindulgence, and codependency really underscored the importance of finding a balanced relationship with food because, at the end of the day, the choices we make about what we consume can shape our emotions, thoughts, and actions.
