35 Tips For Working At Home

Tips:

  1. Separate space
  2. Stick to your same schedule you would if you went into the office
  3. Set specific end time and stick to it
  4. Embrace the freedom AND stay focused on work
  5. Camera ready if that's the thing at your company
  6. Take your breaks
  7. Leave your house when you're able
  8. Make sure you have what you need to be successful
  9. Maintain high performance
  10. Communicate, communicate, communicate
  11. Be active in meetings
  12. Dress for your day
  13. Don't get distracted
  14. Would I do this at the office?
  15. Socialize and interact with your colleagues
  16. Prioritize your work
  17. Plan your day with a calendar - paper or digital
  18. Schedule your tasks / to do list
  19. Good internet speeds
  20. Comfortable chair
  21. Stretch on the regular
  22. Pick some healthy snack / meal options
  23. Assume people are coming from a good place
  24. If your computer mic sucks, invest in a good headset
  25. Set expectations
  26. Know when / how you work the best and optimize for that
  27. Ask for help when needed
  28. Music, podcasts, audiobooks
  29. White noise apps
  30. Let your team how they can get in touch with you if you're away and an emergency pops up
  31. Address conflicts or problems quickly - take it off email / IM as soon as possible
  32. Have 1:1 meetings with your manager and/or your direct reports
  33. Create a place to share work outside of  email
  34. Ask for feedback
  35. Make your goals / desires known
