“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are” (Theodore Roosevelt); this was the general theme of this conversation with Dr. Lillian. Along the way we spoke about maximising (not wasting) time, potential and resources, what makes the Doc anxious, why TYP is a form of exposure therapy for her, her love (and my avoidance) of preparation and planning, her parenting style (spoiler alert.. the Doc’s not always mother-of-the-year!), why we seek approval from people who don’t even like us, the comedy career I’ll never have, our ability to get in our own way and lots more.
