I rarely have guests come on for a round two, but there was no way I could not invite Selene Yeager on again to tell us about her and Dr. Stacy Sims new book : Next Level - Your Guide To Kicking Ass, Feeling Great and Crushing Goals Through Menopause And Beyond. These two amazing women have a whole tribe behind them of inspirational older women who really are smashing it through menopause and totally disrupting stereotypes.
Selene Yeager is leading the way for so many of us women who are older and active. Many of her followers are over 50 and 60 and are still professional athletes hitting records, climbing mountains and winning races, outright, over the guys. Personally, I find this group very inspiring. They have one clear message. Menopause is a time to speed up, not slow down. There is an army of women who won’t sit on the sidelines just because society has told them “game over”. They want to stay in the ring smashing their goals and making even bigger dreams after 50.
Selene is not only the content creator of the Feisty Menopause group, but she is the host of one of my absolute favorite podcasts – Hit Play, Not Pause. When we hit menopause, life is really just beginning in many aspects and the way that population aging is going, you’ve got another good 30 – 40 years ahead of you. Why would you want to slow down now?
Selene is a top-selling professional health and fitness writer who is practicing what she preaches. She co-authored the amazing book ROAR with Dr. Stacy Sims and just now we finally got access to their new book Next Level.
Selene is also an NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certified personal trainer, USA Cycling licensed coach, certified nutrition coach, pro licensed off road racer, and former All-American Ironman triathlete. Need…I…say….more? She’s a badass AND she’s over 50 AND you're going to learn how to be one too.
