A Lot To Talk About episodes

  • The Nate Nauer Story.
Nate Nauer was the voice of New Zealand radio for over a decade. It all started when he bullshit his way into a radio interview for a laugh. What was meant to be a joke turned into a career opportunity. His talents were recognised early when he was scouted to make the move from New FM to the popular Mai FM. Having hosted some amazing guests on radio Nate & I reflected on some of the most memorable celebrity guests for all the right & wrong reasons as well as discussing Nate's personal development throughout his career. Having felt his passion for work slowly die in the recent year, he has now stepped away from the world of radio to spend more time with his family & find what makes him tick again. Father to his beautiful daughter, man child to his loving partner & a proud uncle to his nephew, the love this man has for his family is admirable. In his down time, a close friend urged Nate to host a podcast. He has now aired 3 episodes all having huge success on youtube & will continue to do so until he figures out the next step.I am inspired by the path Nate has walked this past decade & I look forward to seeing what the future holds for him & his family.Follow Nate on IG @nate.nauer & listen to 'Run It Straight with Nate Nauer' on Youtube.

Jordan Kahu is a man of many talents. Outside back for the Brisbane Broncos, owner of Chur Media & Dad/Husband to his growing family. In 2015, Jordan & his partner Jess welcomed the arrival of their first born child. Talk about timing, it happened to be just 2 weeks before he stepped onto the field with his Brisbane team mates to play in one of the greatest rugby league grand finals we will ever witness. In devastating fashion he walked away from that game without a win & ironically in 2019 found himself playing for the side that delivered that tough loss, the North Queensland Cowboys.A year on & he is back at the Broncos.  In many ways life has changed for Jordan & Jess. Now parents to two beautiful kids with a third on the way & the owner of Chur Media, a business he has built off the back of his passion, life really does look great in the Kahu household.I had the privilege to host Jordy & we spoke on a range of topics that aren't always covered by the media in the modern game. I can honestly say, what a genuine human being this guy is & I couldn't be more thankful for his time & energy throughout this episode.Follow Jordan on insta @jordan.kahu & visit chur-media.com.Enjoy fam!

  • Bipolar & Clinical Depression - Jared Pescud's Journey.

I am privileged to call Jared Pescud a friend.

A man who was no more than a familiar face only months ago invited me to sit amongst a group of blokes at a dinner table one evening. Great yarns turned into deep conversation where we shared a portion of our life story's & I left that evening knowing full well that I would go on to spend time with Jared as a new mate.

After a few more catch-ups our relationship had grown stronger. Strong enough for Jared to share with me what he doesn't always preach to the world. He spoke of his battles with clinical depression & bipolar. Honestly, it hit me for a six. One of the most outgoing & happy humans I know sharing that he has struggled through some emotionally testing times & at one stage wanted to take his own life.

I asked Jared to share this story for two reasons:-

    1. This can happen to anyone at any stage in life.

    2. Jared speaks highly of the health professionals who saved his life & the importance of trusting in those that are qualified to handle the emotional minefield the mind can create when suffering from mental health struggles.

He kindly accepted my invitation to share his journey & whilst I sit here & write this now I am proud of my friend as I know his message will be one of great positivity for so many.

  • Isaac John - Be Yourself, Pursue Happiness & Provide Value.

Isaac John AKA 'Ice' is an ex NRL & Super League half. He left the game he grew up loving partly due to injury but mostly because his passions had evolved & changed.

A burning desire to test himself in the business world, build a brand & create/document content. His first business success come through the creation of 'YKTR'. A brand that symbolised more than clothes, it was a culture to be inspired by.

He built the brand alongside best mates, Corey Norman & James Segeyaro & while they both still played in the NRL, it was apparent  that success they were having was not only a product of years of hard work but largely due to the narrative Isaac had created & documented for the world to see.

Since the launch of YKTR, Ice has gone on to create 'The Ice Project', his podcast that provides great value & quality yarns as well as YKTR Sports. A media company designed to share the positive news story's in the sports world that the media forget to represent.

Now a respected figure head in the world of business with an instagram (@iice_) providing valuable content daily, it's hard not to have huge respect for a guy that is living life on his terms.

His advice to the world is - Measure your life on the first 10 seconds of your morning. If that 10 seconds has you excited for the day that is ahead of you & you wake up with a smile on your face, thats worth more than money.

Appreciate your time my guy, lesssgo.

  • Mat Steinwede - "I Was A Steroid Induced, Drug Fuelled Maniac".

Mat Steinwede is a highly respected professional in the Real Estate industry.

In 2019 Mat was the #9 ranked agent in the country. However whilst he is now loved & looked up to by those in his industry, his past life tells a much different story.

In his early adulthood, he was heavily involved in Sydney's drug & violence scene. A bouncer on Oxford Street running brothels & carrying out the work of the country's most feared gangs. A couple of close calls with his own life & a forgiving judge where the catalyst to turn his life around.

In his more recent years Mat's success in Real Estate has been admired by his peers & his love for pushing his body to the limits has created an incredible physique that inspires everyday Aussies to live healthy life's.

Among the craziness of a hectic work schedule & intense workouts, he is father to 6 children of which he loves dearly & looks after every day.

A story of great triumph in the face of tribulation. I have great respect for Mat & the way he has turned his life around.
