This week I spoke to actress, advocate, philanthropist, and producer Torrey JoĂ«l DeVitto. She recently wrapped a six-season run on the NBC drama, âChicago Medâ, and we spoke on zoom from her farm in Michigan. A few years into her acting career, Torrey began volunteering in hospice and tells me how spending time with the dying shifted her perspective on life, death, and what's important. We also talk about navigating change within her industry, growing up around icons like Stevie Nicks and Billy Joel and how that influenced her creativity and work ethic. Outside of her acting work, Torrey is an advocate for women's safety, health, and rights. She is on the board of directors of the youth-based organization SafeBae, so we speak about consent, safety, and education around sexual assault. I loved getting to know her in this conversation.
