  • EP118 - Stop being Proud of having ADHD!
STOP BEING PROUD OF HAVING ADHD is an episode about the biggest overlooked Stigma: 'The fact that we label people with these behaviors (aka Symptoms) with one of the most disempowering words in the English language - Disorder.'
When we label people with ADHD, we stigmatize them with the biggest stigma there is...
If we really want to 'advocate' for people who struggle with focus in life, we need to fist get rid of the word 'disorder' in ADHD in the DSM and we need to start making it illegal for ADHD experts, authors and doctors to receive funding from pharmaceutical companies. Period. Any other 'activist' work around ADHD is just fluffy self-promoting, elbow-rubbing nicey-nicey nonsense and frankly a pseudo-moralistic stand in order to look good in front of their peers.
Wake up. Cut it out. Get real. Stop the pride.

  • EP117 - Obedience Pills
OBEDIENCE PILLS is an intriguing interview with Dr. Patrick D. Hahn, a free-lance writer and independent scholar with a long-standing interest in iatrogenic harm and the medicalization of everyday life.
Dr. Hahn is an Affiliate professor of Biology at Loyola University in Maryland and he’s the author of three books: "Madness and Genetic Determinism: Is Mental Illness in Our Genes?"; "Prescription for Sorrow: Antidepressants, Suicide, and Violence"; and as of recent…
"Obedience Pills: ADHD and the Medicalization of Childhood."
Dr. Hahn and I discussed the following questions around ADHD:
    1. What is ADHD?
    2. Is ADHD a Disorder or a Disease?
    3. What are the drugs prescribed for this condition?
    4. What are the benefits of drugging kids for this condition?
    5. What are the harms?
    6. Do ADHD meds cause addiction to other kinds of drugs?
    7. Who benefits from this drugging of children?

  • EP116 - ADHD: The Gateway Diagnosis
You can call it 'Comorbidity' but I call it the 'gateway diagnosis'... one thing is for sure... we have way too many [ADHD] children on way too many pharmaceutical drugs! A recent New York Times Article spells it out pretty clearly for even the mainstream nay sayers...
We. Are. Treating. Children. Like. Guinea Pigs.
    We must stop this!

  • EP114 - Dr. Nobody on ADHD
DR. NOBODY ON ADHD is an homage to all the hard working, courageous Doctors, Researchers, Experts and Authors who have been fighting hard to give a voice to the other side of this mostly one-sided, incomplete, pro-medication, pro-disorder narrative around this so-called disorder 'ADHD'.
I acknowledge you for honoring your truth and for making the health and well-being of hundreds of thousands of children diagnosed with such a disorder your priority! You are a shining light in this darkness of selfish global interest groups.
    Thank You!

  • EP113 - ADHD is not an illness and Ritalin is not a cure.
This episode is a deep dive into the scientific 'cherry-picking' that Pharma companies do when promoting their ADHD drugs to parents, featuring my special guest, Israeli scientist practitioner Dr. Yaakov Ophir.
Dr. Ophir is releasing his new book 'ADHD is not an illness and Ritalin is not a cure' shortly and we talked about how his own son was diagnosed at the age of 4 1/2 and told to be on Ritalin. We also further explored a ludicrous study on ADHD & Covid that he and his colleague recently wrote a scientific rebuttal to. Other topics we touched upon include:
    - Psychologists' & Experts' conflicts of interest
    - Getting attacked by Israeli ADHD experts
    - How Science carries the burden of proof
    and more...
Dr. Ophir is a clinical psychologist at the mental health center of Megilot Regional Council and a research associate at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. His main field of research concerns the relationships between psychopathology and technology.
He develops Artificial Intelligence in the age of big data and digital technology (e.g., suicide risk detection from social media through Artificial Intelligence technologies) as well as the scientific validity of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Dr. Ophir published over 20 peer-reviewed scientific articles and taught several academic courses at the University of Haifa, Reichman University, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Dr. Ophir received his Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and he is currently working with leading world experts to develop the promising field of Cyber-psychology. His research involves computerized analyses of big-data sets and focuses on the relationships between Internet and Psychopathology. Specifically, Ophir aims to develop machine learning based tools for screening and diagnosing mental health conditions.
In his clinical work, Dr. Ophir served as the director of the National Program for Children and Youth in the dead sea municipality and today he is providing short-term psychodynamic treatments as well as cognitive behavior therapies (CBT) to families and individuals in need.
In the past years, following the diagnosis of his own son, Dr. Ophir delved into the field of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Through multiple writings and media interviews (mostly in Hebrew), Ophir, exposed dozens of theoretical and methodological flaws that characterize the research on ADHD and its related clinical practices. In his view, ADHD cannot be categorized as an objective brain deficit or as a psychiatric disorder and therefore he openly declares that ADHD should be removed from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

This is a very powerful episode with Dr. Peter Breggin MD, a Harvard-trained psychiatrist and former Consultant at the National Institute of Mental Health who has been called “The Conscience of Psychiatry” for his many decades of successful efforts to reform the mental health field. His work provides the foundation for modern criticism of psychiatric diagnoses and drugs and leads the way in promoting more caring and effective therapies.
His research and educational projects have brought about major changes in the FDA-approved ‘Full Prescribing Information' or labels for dozens of antipsychotic and antidepressant drugs. He continues to educate the public and professions about the tragic psychiatric drugging of America’s children.
Dr. Breggin has authored dozens of scientific articles and more than twenty books, including “The Ritalin Fact Book”, “Talking back to Ritalin” and the bestseller Toxic Psychiatry.
As a medical-legal expert, Dr. Breggin has unprecedented and unique knowledge about how the pharmaceutical industry too often commits fraud in researching and marketing psychiatric drugs.
Most recently, Dr. Breggin has turned his attention to the misuse of the science surrounding COVID-19 and its origins in what he calls "global predators."  Dr. Breggin and his wife Ginger R. Breggin have written a new book, COVID-19 and the Global Predators: We are the Prey.

THE CHRONICALLY THREATENED is an eye-opening episode with the creator of the Polyvagal Theory, Dr. Stephen Porges.
In this episode, Dr. Porges and I talked about how the Polyvagal Theory relates to ADHD and why there is nothing 'wrong' with children who have been diagnosed with these so-called mental disorders (ADHD, ODD, Anxiety, Depression etc.). What if all these children were simply dealing with a nervous system that's locked in 'threat mode', due to chronically occurring traumatic events occurring in their environments.
Now, when parents hear words such as threats or trauma, they typically only think of actual threats such as violence, divorce, abuse etc. But as Dr. Porges explains, for a highly sensitive child not much is needed to lock their nervous system while in threat mode...
Listen in and hear for yourself to see if you can relate to what Dr. Porges shares around ADHD and his Polyvagal Theory.
Stephen W. Porges, PhD, is Distinguished University Scientist at Indiana University, where he is the founding director of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium within the Kinsey Institute.  He holds the position of Professor of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina and Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Maryland.
Dr. Porges served as president of both the Society for Psychophysiological Research and the Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences and is a former recipient of a National Institute of Mental Health Research Scientist Development Award.  He has published approximately 300 peer reviewed scientific papers across several disciplines including anesthesiology, biomedical engineering, critical care medicine, ergonomics, exercise physiology, gerontology, neurology, neuroscience, obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatry, psychology, psychometrics, space medicine, and substance abuse. His research has been cited in approximately 40,000 peer review publications.
In 1994 Dr. Porges proposed the Polyvagal Theory, a theory that links the evolution of the mammalian autonomic nervous system to social behavior and emphasizes the importance of physiological state in the expression of behavioral problems and psychiatric disorders. The theory is leading to innovative treatments based on insights into the mechanisms mediating symptoms observed in several behavioral, psychiatric, and physical disorders.
He is the author of The Polyvagal Theory: Neurophysiological foundations of Emotions, Attachment, Communication, and Self-regulation (Norton, 2011), The Pocket Guide to the Polyvagal Theory: The Transformative Power of Feeling Safe (Norton, 2017),co-editor of Clinical Applications of the Polyvagal Theory: The Emergence of Polyvagal-Informed Therapies (Norton, 2018), and Polyvagal Safety (Norton, expected 2021).
Dr. Porges is also the creator of a music-based intervention, the Safe and Sound Protocol™, which currently is used by more than 2000 therapists to improve spontaneous social engagement, to reduce hearing sensitivities, and to improve language processing, state regulation, and spontaneous social engagement.
