Three times a day, 39-year-old Ashlee Nordquist, an optician in Fargo, North Dakota, logged in to the shopping app Temu to feed her fish.
If she fed enough fish, by tapping on a floating bag of fish food on her phone screen, Temu had promised to send her a free product of her choosing. But Nordquist kept running out of fish food. To get more, she needed to refer a new user to the app. So, she introduced Temu to her close friends and coworkers.
After making more than a dozen referrals, and playing countless rounds of Fishland as well as other games on Temu, Nordquist won a bounty of freebies: a family hotpot-and-grill combo, a small hotpot-and-grill combo (she found the first one too big), a camera drone, a storage organizer, and a meat slicer. Most recently, in February, her fish-feeding routine landed her a free guitar — a gift for her friend’s daughter.

Harry’s charge that Charles has meted out some kind of ‘cruel punishment’ is laughable.
It wasn’t Charles who pocketed a $100 million cheque to make a Netflix series attacking his family.
It wasn’t Charles who told Oprah Winfrey in a prime-time TV interview that the Royals are a bunch of callous racists.
And it wasn’t Charles who wrote 400-plus pages of shockingly intrusive and nasty revelations slaughtering everyone from Charles and William to their wives, Queen Camilla and Kate, the Princess of Wales.
No, it was Harry, the world’s biggest spoiled brat, egged on by Meghan.

Harry, 38, admitted having a crush on Courteney in his book and feeling like her Friends on-screen husband Chandler when partying with her, and said he wondered if he could work up the “courage” to tell her of his infatuation.

He said an actor brought him and his friend to Courteney’s fridge during the bash at her house where they found a stash of “black diamond mushroom chocolates.”

He then said about hallucinating over Courteney’s kitchen bin after he downed the drugs: “I stepped on the pedal and the head opened its mouth. A huge open grin. I laughed.”

A new online shopping platform linked to one of China’s top retailers has quickly become the most downloaded app in the United States, surpassing Amazon and Walmart. Now it’s looking to capitalize from an appearance on America’s biggest stage.

Temu, a Boston-based online retailer that shares the same owner as Chinese social commerce giant Pinduoduo, made its Super Bowl debut on Sunday.

Temu, which runs an online superstore for virtually everything — from home goods to apparel to electronics — unveiled a commercial during the game that encouraged consumers to “shop like a billionaire.”

A TV drama extolling Beijing’s campaigns against crime and corruption has become a huge hit across China.
With some of the country’s best actors and a slick script, The Knockout, a 39-episode crime drama has become the most successful production yet of the new television genre.

The Knockout, one of China’s most popular recent television shows, shines light on Beijing’s anti-corruption crusade.

It dramatises China’s sweeping crackdown on corruption, which has netted prominent national figures.

In the past, the baddies were obvious in Chinese TV—clearly evil, with no redeeming qualities lest the audience be enticed to imitate them.

But Gao enters the story sympathetically as a bullied fishmonger working hard for his family before he turns to a life of crime. It brings the story to the viewer’s doorstep—this could be any of your local party officials.

It’s all to win us over to the core message. Beijing’s relentless determination to weed out local corruption for the people.

An Xin, the heroic police officer, spends 20 years against “dark forces” in the fictional city of Jinghai until Beijing’s new initiative allows justice to finally prevail over the town’s party chief, who has long colluded with local criminals for personal gain.

The drama is full of twists, earning high praise on Douban, however, it runs the risk of backfiring by revealing too much existing malfeasance.

One critic wrote that he was “very glad The Knockout was not filmed in a grand and stiff manner,”as with its villain Gao Qiqiang, the corrupt local government official who hides under a humble “man of the people” guise. In the past, the baddies were clearly evil, with no redeeming qualities lest the audience be enticed to imitate them.
