Do Narcissists Know What They're Doing? with Lise Colucci & Angie Atkinson - Do narcissists and sociopaths know what they're doing? Are they conscious that what they're doing is wrong? Or are they knowingly trying to take advantage of people, in full knowledge of the harm that it causes them? We break down the concept of narcissism and sociopathy and share our thoughts on whether these disorders have a conscience or not. There is a wide range of opinions on the extent to which narcissists know what they're doing when it comes to inflicting harm on others. Some people think that narcissists are cold, evil, and calculated - able to inflict the most grievous of wounds, without losing any sleep over it. Others think that narcissists are essentially functional automatons, who move through life with little regard for the consequences of their actions, but with no true malicious intent. Rather, they think that narcissists are simply oblivious to or ignoring of the feelings and needs of others - just unable or unwilling to recognize them.
