    • Know what your expertise is getting paid for in the market
    • Know the market
    • What is the supply and demand 
    • Be really upfront in that initial conversation regarding your expectations 

      • If you get an offer you're not jazzed about: 

      • Express gratitude
      • Be genuine
      • Be honest 
      • Share your expectations 
      • Ask if there is any wiggle room 
      • Be open to different options 
      • Know what will get you to a 'yes' and be transparent about it 

        • When to move to the next job: 

        • You're not happy 
        • Compensation 
        • You don't have any growth opportunities 
        • Bored, need new challenges 
        • Expand your skillset 
        • Get experience in a new industry

          • A recruiter never wants it to take long
          • Could be slow hiring manager feedback 
          • Manager could be indecisive 
          • Could be a bad recruiter 
          • Org changes 
          • Could be waiting for you to follow up or provide feedback 
          • Could be a really poor or shitty interview process 
          • Could be a major hiring push, volume wise, everyone is overloaded
