In this episode, I wrote called Dear Change.

Lately I’ve been sitting in that strange space many of us know well. The space between who we were and who we are becoming. The space where something in life has shifted, but the next chapter hasn’t fully revealed itself yet.

It can feel foggy there, uncertain, even tiring. Our minds want answers and direction, but sometimes life is asking something else of us.

Patience.

Drawing on William Bridges’ work on transitions, I speak about the season many people try to rush through. The in between. The neutral zone. The place where things that once felt certain begin to loosen, old rhythms no longer quite fit, and clarity hasn’t yet arrived.

This episode is a reminder that not every season of life is for building.

Some seasons are for releasing. Some seasons are for waiting. Some seasons are simply for becoming.

In this episode, Steve and I revisit a story from my book that says a lot about how many of us enter relationships in the beginning: a little bit false.

When we first got together, Steve was a pizza-eating machine. Every time I went to his place, pizza was ordered. I didn’t even want pizza. But I went along with it. I wanted to be easy. Agreeable. Low maintenance. Cool.

Inside, I knew what I actually wanted but I didn’t say it.

That small moment became a much bigger realisation: if I’m being “cool” about pizza when I don’t want it, where else in my life am I abandoning myself because I fear losing what I have? 

We talk about how many of us shape-shift early in relationships out of fear of being difficult, too much, hard work, or ultimately, unlovable. Showing up false isn’t sustainable. Eventually, the real you arrives anyway.

Relationships don’t deepen when we perform, they deepen when the real person finally walks into the room.

I felt ready for this chapter. I honoured the versions of me who carried me here . I stepped into this decade open, grounded, certain, and then grief quietly arrived.

In this deeply personal episode, I share the unexpected emotional landscape of entering a new decade, the tenderness that comes with seeing your parents age, wondering if the children you love are ready for the world, and realising even the companions who’ve walked beside you for years won’t be here forever.

Steve’s turning 50. I just turned turning 40.

This isn’t a “new decade, new me” episode. It’s more tender than that. 

For me, there’s been grief. Grieving parts of myself from the past. Versions of me that won’t be coming forward into this next chapter, and if I’m really honest, even pre-mourning what’s to come.

Sadness has been the emotion I’ve been honouring this week. I've just let it be there.

For Steve, it’s different. He’s more aware of time, how he’s spending it, how joyful his life actually feels and how he could inject more joy into whatever time he has left.

We’re both asking: What matters now? What needs to be let go? What needs to be chosen more intentionally?

This episode is a very honest reflection of where we’re at. No big answers. Just two people in transition, supporting each other, looking at time, identity, joy, and meaning a little more closely.

In this episode I share a very human, very imperfect moment I had with a traffic control guy outside my house, one of those interactions where two egos meet, both think they’re right, and things go downhill fast.

He was frustrated. I was frustrated. And instead of choosing kindness, clarity, or calm, went high and mighty. Righteous. Chest out. Ego leading the charge.

And he did the same. Two strangers, both convinced we were justified, making each other’s day crap within 30 seconds.

That’s the work of living authentically, catching yourself when you’ve acted out of alignment, owning it, and doing something about it. And as Steve and I went for our walk, I knew exactly what I needed to do: apologise.

Not because I was “wrong.” Not because he “deserved it.” But because I know how I want to show up in this world and that moment wasn’t it.

This episode is a reminder that authenticity isn’t perfection, it’s repair. It’s self-awareness put into action. It’s choosing who you want to be, even after an ego slip.

In this episode, I share my reflections on my word for this year, unwavered, and how it’s moved itself through me this year. 

Change happens in our home all the time. With the girls, with living arrangements, with things shifting, coming, going and for years, that stuff used to mess with me big time. I’d get thrown off, attached to the plan we just made that now suddenly changed again, stuck in my rigidness.

But this year this was the year I let that shit go. I stopped gripping so tightly to “how it was supposed to go” and softened into what’s here. It has been incredibly freeing.

The second part of the episode is about coming back to what you wrote at the start of the year with what you wanted to stop, start, and keep doing and actually checking in with how you went with that intention.
