Professor Hamilton’s passion is to teach people how to communicate in ways that enhance the areas of life that matter the most. Because all human behavior has communicative value, we can conclude that communication is a fundamental skill that is widely underestimated. It is in every fiber of our humanity. Without it, we would not exist.
Jaime has garnered an academic platform of excellence while teaching in Higher Education for over 20 years. “I thrive on teaching communication skills that people can apply in real-world contexts.” It is her dream to connect the world of academia with everyday human behavior so that we can understand the world around us in more meaningful ways. Her teaching techniques combined with her real-life experiences allow her to shine a light on new and innovative ways to communicate. She believes that relationships are the core of our human nature. “I want to share what I know so that we can cultivate relationships that help us achieve our full potential.”
She founded The Comm Experts, a communication consulting and coaching company, with the hope of teaching effective communication skills beyond the walls of Higher Education. Her education includes a B.S. and M.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Central Missouri. Her education foundation is rooted in Rhetorical Theory and Applied Communication.

She’s the host of TED Talks Daily, a correspondent for VICE News Tonight, a host-at-large at NPR, and the author of Flawless, a book about lessons in looks and culture from the K-Beauty capital. Today we are going to be talking about Elise’s book, Flawless, and the impact of the beauty industry on women.
Elise is a Los Angeles-based journalist, podcaster and media entrepreneur. She’s the host of TED Talks Daily, a correspondent for VICE News Tonight and a host-at large at NPR, where she spent nearly a decade as a reporter. She has reported stories from more than a dozen countries as an international correspondent, and opened NPR’s first-ever Seoul bureau, in 2015. She also created the Gracie-award winning video series Elise Tries. In 2009, Elise helped found The Texas Tribune, a nonprofit digital startup after stops at many stations as a television news reporter.
In addition to her hosting and reporting work, Elise co-founded and helps lead an all-woman podcast production house, Reasonable Volume. The team produces bespoke podcasts for clients ranging from individuals to non-profits to multi-billion dollar brands.
An honors graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia’s School of Journalism, Elise’s work has earned a Gannett Foundation Award for Innovation in Watchdog Journalism, a National Edward R. Murrow award for best online video and The Austin Chronicle once dubiously named her the “Best TV Reporter Who Can Write.”
Outside of work, she is a senior fellow at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg Innovation Lab, sits on the board of Grist magazine and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. A mother of three girls, she spends an inordinate amount of time doing other people’s hair.

Born and raised in upstate New York, Ashley Closson has a unique story, to say the least. She is happy to share her wins and failures on divorce, being a two-time cancer survivor, navigating changing your career when it isn’t bringing you joy, and lastly, taking control of finding your happy ending no matter the cost. She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology for Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising. Her passion for helping others after her health battles has guided her to an account executive position for a local not-for-profit health insurance company. She uses her passion for helping others to motivate her to succeed in her career. Madelyn has a passion for giving back to her community by volunteering and hosting fundraising events for local organizations such as animal shelters and other non-profit organizations. She got involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a volunteer back in 2018 when her father was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer. She then left the sales world to work full time at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society last year to spearhead the highest impact fundraising campaign in the Capital Region to help further raise awareness and funds for the organization that helped save her father's life. Savaun Perry, Esq. is a college professor and founder of Ezer Legal Solutions, an estate planning law firm.
