In the Marketing Minutes, Corrie answers the question again - should I have a page or a group? There are benefits to both - as long as you can be present on them. Our take - have a page for sure. Have a group if you have the time to create meaningful engagement. 

In the Business of Baking, Heather road off into the sunset on horses only to learn how horses and clients are more alike than we think. Train your horse that bad habits get them what they want? Welcome to having a dangerous horse. The same can be said for difficult clients who get what they want time and time again. Give incentives to the actions you want to encourage, don't give attention to the actions you want to dissuade.

In the Marketing Minutes, Heather has an addiction to Ray-Bans - but is the sunglasses she loves or the price associated with them? After running a test on herself, she determined that it's not merely the object she likes, but the price that adds the true value - just like Sugar Cookies.

In the Marketing Minutes, we wanted to talk about investing in yourself and your business. Oftentimes, we talk about making money - but what about spending money to make money? CookieCon, backdrops, Eddies - what can we invest in ourselves to get more out of ourselves? Spending money seems the opposite of making it, but just like the toll roads, if I make $60/hr, and taking the toll road at $30 gets me into the office an hour earlier, I'll have made $30 by spending $30. Same with your cookie business. Find where you can invest in yourself to get more money out of you and your bakery. 

In the Business of Baking, Corrie wanted to cover something that is important both in business and personal life - that's communication. Imagine reaching out to your client before they reached out to you - could you imagine how impressed they would be? Best part - you can automate a lot of it too. Using Google's email scheduler, you can have emails drip out at predetermined times - just set it and forget it!

In the Marketing Minutes, I (Heather) wanted to cover what the law of supply and demand is. When you have too much demand (you're booked out too long), raising your price will lower demand. Sounds bad. Is good. When we work less and make more, we can scale. And there's always someone willing to pay our prices. A good time to know when it's time to raise those prices are when you're feeling burnt out and overworked. 

In the Business of Baking, Corrie covers a lesson she learned this week on mitigating problems, alleviating order fail points, and eliminating bad clients. We talk about member Lori who reworked her entire business model to get her business to work for her - not against her. It's awesome.
