This week I spoke with Grace Park and Jesse Dalton, two members of the Austin-based band The Deer. Their songs are spacious, with airy vocals and gentle percussion, and it’s a sound that compels comparisons to Fleetwood Mac, Neko Case or Mazzy Star. In this conversation, Jesse and Grace tell me about the beginning of the band, being back on the road after quarantine, their new album, and their process. We talk about trial and error, acceptance, friendship, grief, and much more.
