There are cyclical patterns in narcissistic abuse: ideation or love-bombing, devaluation, and discard. Without exception, the cycles happen at varying speeds from mere weeks up to decades depending on what type of narcissist or cluster B individual you are in a relationship with. It is crucial to understand these three stages of the relationship even if your narcissist is unaware of them themselves. Only a small percent of narcissists are fully aware of what is happening and understand what they are doing and why they are doing it.
