This meditation is a little different since rather than using our conscious awareness we are moving toward a single point focus or concentration meditation. I am hopeful that this will give you a slightly new way of meditating that you can do without my guidance!

Not surprisingly, you will need a candle for this meditation. I feel I must say that you should be very careful where you place your candle - away from curtains, furnishings or indeed anything else combustable! 

Meditating on a single point, especially a flame is very soothing for the eyes and for the brain since it give the mind something to entertain it! Your mind will, of course, have some thoughts but you let them float past you and bring your focus back to the candle. Like any meditation, it is a practice, and the more you do it the easier it will become to find the quietness of mind that we are striving for. 

I love using the fire element to feed my energy and to dump out any negative energy that is around you. If you find yourself in the company of negative energy then this is a beautiful way to offload it. The flame is happy to take it and transmute it to something more useful for the Universe!
