Leadership and coaching are much more than managing others: it’s about approaching each individual with a genuine sense of curiosity and believing that there is greatness in every one of those people that you have the honor of having on your team.
No matter how much you love your people, it’s still a business and there are times when we do have to part ways with some of your team because you need to be thinking in terms of a standard – are you aiming for mediocrity or are you aiming for something special?
On this episode of Finding Your Competitive Edge, Executive Coach & Leadership Development Consultant Burr Cota shares his top tips on how to lead & coach your team, how to help them achieve their full potential, and how to create a foundation for success both individually and as a company. Burr has worked as a coach and business leader for over 20 years in enterprises ranging from start-up ventures to Fortune 100 corporations.
“I think there is beauty and greatness in every person and I believe that we were all put here by God and if you can look at people with a real genuine sense of curiosity - I want to understand what makes this person tick, what’s their ‘why’, where is that greatness and how can I help pull that out of them and help them have the best experience possible while working for this organization: that’s coaching, that’s leadership.” – Burr Cota

Look at where you spend your time every day - are those minutes being spent with things that are bettering yourself and those around you?
In order to learn and grow, you have to set the right intentions. Intentionally take 15 minutes every morning and every night to pick up a book that will help you grow where you need growth. Intentionally surround yourself with people that are learners and are going to push you to learn. Once we’re learning something, we’re adding value to who we are and to those around us!

How much time are you spending every day on meaningless tasks, scrolling on social media, or watching your favorite shows? If you were to replace just 15 minutes of that every morning and night with reading, that’s roughly a book read every 2 weeks.
If you’re deliberately choosing not to read books that have helped others to become successful, then you are deliberately choosing to live under your own potential. On this episode of Finding Your Competitive Edge - Founder of BookThinkers, author & top podcast host, Nick Hutchison - talks about the power of reading & how to leverage the experience of people who have already overcome what you’re trying to overcome.
Nick Hutchison stands as the visionary force behind BookThinkers, a growing 7-figure marketing agency that seamlessly bridges the worlds of authors and readers.
Nick has organically built a platform that reaches over 1,000,000 people each month. Nick's podcast, BookThinkers: Life-Changing Books, is a global top 2% show that features captivating interviews with world-class authors such as Grant Cardone, Lewis Howes, and Alex Hormozi.
“What is ultimately not going to serve you in the future that you can replace with reading?...It’s not a question of whether or not we can read, but it’s a question of whether or not we value the reading enough to prioritize it.” - Nick Hutchison
