STRENGTHEN CONTAINMENT BY CHOOSING IT 


Containment is that feeling of groundedness and integration we feel at the emotional and energetic level when someone gives us a good hug that we are very receptive to. 


We all need energetic Containment.  Women need Containment quite a bit more than Men.


Men providing this energetic and emotional Containment to their women is one of the bigger ways they can contribute to their woman’s well being and hold her well and lead her.  Women are hungry to receive this feeling from their men of feeling held, feeling protected, feeling contained by their men’s strength and ferocity.
 

Most men today are failing miserably at giving this good Containment to their women.  As a result, their women are anxious, unhappy, irate.  They may not have the language to describe that this lack of Containment is what is at cause for so much of their negative emotions, but once you understand this concept, you will be able to trace much of your man-woman breakdown to the woman not receiving the containment that she needs and wants from her man.  And most men today are lousy at providing this Containment.


The reason men are so bad at providing Containment are discussed in this conversation.  The main reason for men’s failure to provide Containment is that they are simply not focused on it.  Being able to provide Containment is simply not one of the manly virtues that men are being taught these days.


In its place, we are putting other emphasis on how men should be — we are encouraging men to be vulnerable, we are encouraging men to be feminine — none of which is actually helping men give their women what they need and want from their men.
